Tbf Ken has done a lot more than Dew

No flag or even a GF appearance and coached for 4 years longer
This ontop of having more resources and every player his ever wanted at his disposal, how many times did we hear '' last piece of the puzzle'' ?
Dew should have been backed in like Hardwick was at year 6
Ken on the otherhand...?
Grand final appearances and flags are success. If we go on to win every game and fall on our arse in the finals its a failure like every other year

According to Whateley on radio today "Kenny" has the upper hand, says he sat an exam whatever bs that means and that he's aced it.

What part of no GF appearances or no flags for 10 seasons say that he's aced coaching?
Don't they usually do the exam at the end of the semester?

I wanted Hardwick instead of Choco being signed that last time, but unfortunately, he got the Richmond job. He's one of the most concise articulate coaches in the business, and of course is successful. However if Carr is a big reason for our wins, and midfield development, and selections, then I'd like to secure him. The reason Hardwick stood down is concerning. Tough one but at least either gives us hope. I guess Schofield's credentials have dimmed a bit but even he'd fill me with hope and a fresh outlook on my football life. I'm still done when it comes to Ken.

Considering we blindly copied Richmond's this many Premierships this many members oath with no consideration on what that looks like, hopefully Richmond sniffing around Carr is enough to make us panic and blindly sign him. Then Koch can claim himself the new Brendan Gale

We all know what will happen

Step 1 - Kock resigns KenWillBeHereForever Hinkley before finals
Step 2 - Port bomb out of finals ala 2020/21
Step 3 - Carr leaves Port because he realises Ken will be here forever
Step 4 - Port finish 10th in 2024
Step 5 - Sack Hinkley thread on Big Footy reaches Part 76
Step 6

Whatever the validity for sacking him — you’d take Hardwick over Dew in heartbeat — it’s the hypocritical media narratives that grate.

The Wilsons and the Brownes can preempt Dew’s sacking relentlessly for weeks, with Caro specifically declaring that the players’ love for him is irrelevant, it’s the results stupid!

But Warren Tredrea and a significant portion of the Port fanbase are openly denigrated and gaslit for years for anything approaching scrutiny for Ken Hinkley and asking how long’s too long.

“it’s disrespectful!”
“it’s ungrateful!”
“but the players love him!”

Ohhh righto.

I don’t think carr is the type of guy that would entertain offers from elsewhere until the season is done, especially when he is at club that he loves that’s in pursuit of a premiership. And he’d only just packed up his family and moved here less than 12 months ago.

If he is the main man responsible for our return to the top 2 after a 1 year hiatus than the offers will still be there come mad Monday.

Until then you just park everything, and that includes Ken’s contract.

Why would you work so hard to get to this point and throw it away with distractions that could seriously derail our season. There should only be one focus and that is winning our second afl premiership.

The jumping at shadows and major football operation changes that many seem to want to make immediately when we are 14 and 2 and up to our eyeballs in the premiership race is mind boggling.

Nobody wants to change what’s happening now.

We just don’t want to see the guy — who is increasingly being credited with the current invincibility despite it beginning immediately after he was quite visibly demoted from his usual matchday role — get rewarded for what is at best a partial influence that is unique in nature.

And well before the job is done.

Caroline Wilson was 100% right about Dew’s contract situation. And given her recent comments about Hinkley, that’s terrifying.
