Heard the tail end of Camporeale on radio saying be careful what you wish for Port supporters if Ken is sacked/leaves. The grass is not always greener. He is right, we could hire a coach who doesnt win us a Premiership I guess.....

Whilst I'm not outright calling this out, there are factors that make this challenging to believe, and a few that might support it.

In this scenario, the players can't be aware right? Or they are? They're coming out nearly every week in support of Ken in the media. Josh Carr is doing some heavy lifting for somebody who is receiving basically zero credit. Ken is very excited to be winning for a coach who has effectively been neutered. Is this something that is to be revealed at some point? It's going to look awful strange to the media if we sack him after winning a GF. What kind of reception is JC going to receive from the happy clappers next season? Are the other assistants reporting to JC already? Why would Ken not be out there looking for another job now? If he is, how is this being kept secret? There are so many questions and it's such a bold move that it's difficult to believe. If our list management people were in charge of the decision, I could believe it, they've made some bold moves in the past, but Kochie and co?
Before reading this post it had never really dawned on me that Josh Carr's initials are JC.

Just think about that. JC.

Those are the initials of the immortal, our Lord and Saviour...

John Cahill.

It's a sign. The next JC will start coaching us in 2024, exactly 50 years after the last JC started coaching us.

As a non Port supporter I am fascinated by this thread.

Do people actually still want him gone or is this thread full of sarcasm and satire about Hinkley being fired.

I can't fathom how any Port supporter would want him gone after the truly remarkable and magical season you guys are having.
I dotn want him fired. Just not renewed.

He's had his time.

Also finals is his magics cryptonite.

I will never understand the level of respect Ken has received from neutrals.

it's because Ken has kept Port down, that's what the footy world loves

Why is Scott Camporeale all of a sudden some media go to guy for comment on Port related stuff? No one gives a f**k what you think, Scotty.

Yes we were ruthless club that lived by the creed

Ebert sacked after fails to win SF in 1987, lost 1984 GF as captain coach.
Cahill sacked at end of 1998 after another 6 SANFL flags and only 2 years in AFL missed finals by % in 1997. Williams forced to resign mid 2010, a premiership coach.

Hinkley....

Remember that Brisbane supporter Royboy telling us how great Ken was in 2012 when he got signed? He vanished pretty quick.

To be fair the vast majority of us were drinking that bathwater until at least 2015.

Campo also tells people privately he thinks that Port's list during Ken's tenure has been very average and that Ken has gotten the absolute most out of the players to the point it could be said he has overachieved.

In other words he has NFI.

It wasn't so much drinking the bathwater as judging him on results. In 2013 and 2014 he definitely exceeded expectations. 2015 was a failure and he should have been gone in 2017.

As one, I'm quite perplexed. Weird empty threats that Port would lose something without him, when they gained absolutely nothing with the used car salesman. There's likely going to be 2 premiership coaches on the market, at season's end, would make better sense just to let him finish up. It's a win-win if they let him go at season's end, they either unlikely win a premiership or don't, and then could poach either Hardwick or Simpson, proven successes. Simpson could be low balled, but unlike the used car salesman, has 2 Grand Finals and Premiership. Heck, Mark Williams is on the market, too, with the same record.
