I just will never get over the fact that our Chairman is a bloke who would have undoubtedly been beaten up by the likes of Mark Williams, George Fiacchi, Dave Granger et al if they went to school together as kids. The guy is one of the biggest goobs I've ever seen heading up what is supposed to be one of the roughest football clubs in Australian history. Really says it all.

Wait.

There are people who genuinely believed a contract extension for Hinkley would not be forthcoming?

And those people genuinely believe that said contract extension was not agreed upon months ago?

And those people genuinely believe that this time the club's decision will be influenced by a bombardment of emails, phone calls, and tweets?

It didn't work a hundred other times over the past decade, but this time it will be different.

I don't know whether to laugh, or...

So it would be silly to wait until he shows how he coaches the team when it matters?.... you know in the finals????

Makes sense LOL! This club is well and truly cooked if that's what Koch is saying.

Everything we get is all because we have a moron in charge who thinks he's a footy person but he actually hasn't a clue so he goes with stability and partial success as a indication of better things to come.

The guy (Koch) is a braindead cancer on this club and has been for the best part of a decade now.

He's all poweful down there too. It's the Koch way of thinking or you're out the door.

Look at nearly every single appointment for the last god knows how many years, they are nearly all people who wouldn't get a job at any other club, and they know it too. So they don't say boo as they are on good money and know this is their only chance of working in this type of environment.

Coahes, support staff, administration and the board. They are all Koch people.

Insular bunch of frauds that history will judge accordingly. Unfortunately we've all had to witness the results and the angst that now is part and parcel of following this club.

we bow out in straight sets there might be record low crowds next year. I think for a large majority of supporters that will be the tipping point. The signing of hinkley seems like it was always fait accompli cause all those in power are covering each others arses.

We lose in straight sets, loss carr and sign hinkley ill be taking a rest from attending matches, they can shove it and all the never tear us apart bullshit.
I don't think so. The club would have done its market research, and they'd believe the majority would hang around for the "event". Hence the focus switching from "results" to "game day experience" since the move to Adelaide Oval. They've done the sums and clearly feel they can take the hit of a few cancelled memberships in the short term.
The long and the short of it is they don't really care about us.

Honestly a few hundred KOCH OUT HINKLEY OUT stickers can be made fairly cheaply and deployed about the CBD, Adelaide oval, Alberton rather easily and stealthily

If nothing else it would get big Charlie out to accuse game of "being idiots who know nothing"
Yeah stickers would be great but I wouldn't mind trying something much bigger. Its funny how one sticker made such an uproar.

As much as I would love to fight I am questioning whether there is anything left to fight for. My love affair with PAFC is almost over.

None of this is at all surprising.

a succession plan of sorts may be surprise detail that I'm hoping for but the extension is happening and that was clear several weeks ago.

I'm more concerned about the 4 losses in a row and how we can turn this season around but it's like the club is already dead? Not all is lost yet, we win on sunday and we secure a finals double chance.

Anyone not renewing with good seats want to send them my way. A couple years back i upgraded to platinum and finding 2 seats together in a decent spot was very difficult. It was slim pickings.

4/5 10 year plan seemed rather over the top although was qualified, but decision in august before finals. So immanent and could be after gws with a win!

Teehee, it’s wonderful isn’t it! Consigning Port Adelaide to 12 and 13 years of futility but who cares, because you love Hinkley like a pre-pubescent child loves South Korean boybands.

Koch basically said something will be announced this month this morning on 5AA. They don't want it hanging around and distracting during finals. Given that, you can read between the lines that they wouldn't be sacking him ahead of finals. He'll get an extension, and we'll be straight back into the Ken Hinkley sugar hit zone, with an out of the box piece of H&A form has scored him another extension, regardless of the finals results.

Its hard to take when you consider how banged up our team is. It clear Hinkley was coaching for a contract and to be in the best position possible in August and not coaching for end of season success. The Dixon and Lycett management highlights that.

When we flop out again in finals, and heaven forbid it is a straight sets flop, the supporter bases enthusiasm is going to be completely drained. You'd have to say as a supporter base, the enthusiasm levels are already at record lows since we entered the AFL, but geez, the next 2 years under Hinkley and a continually failing regime that offers no hope to us is going to be depressing.
If the news of an extension is true, I truly hope Josh Carr gets the Richmond job next year, because it'll expose Hinkley as the fraud he really is. At least I'll now save around $1000 in memberships over the next couple of years, so this cloud does have a silver lining.

They're just discussing how best to send him off after they confirm Carr is coaching next year.

So we can all focus on getting him a flag on the way out.
