It's genuinely funny people are being sucked in by this.

They played 5 blokes under 22 compared to our 6. One of theirs played 15 minutes once the game was over.

The only one that attended a centre bounce was McAuliffe. The others were playing minor roles in flanks and pockets (Brown, Sonsie and Campbell).

Why should they run out of legs but not our under 22 number 1 ruck (Conway), number 2 ruck (Neale), 2 key midfielders (Bruhn and Holmes) and arguably the best player on the night (Dempsey)?

The fact is we played more young players in vastly more important roles than Richmond did.

Because some of their slightly over 22 players are very young in game experience so lack the match hardened nature and fitness-see ryan dow cumberland and ralphsmith and miller. Granted some of those guys are spuds but they still didnt have the legs.
Plus lefau is older but young in afl terms and doesnt have the base afl fitness yet.

Make no mistake a more experienced and better side would have smashed us.

I was more worried about the knee dekoning got to the back of his head. Who cares about Lefau.
Well, I like to care a bit about all players. If Lefau is really good then he might play for us one day. Or he might kick a goal to bury a resurgent hawks team. Or he might retain his spot in the future at the expense of an up and coming kpf that asks to come to us.

But mostly, those of of injuries can end careers. They're pretty psychologically damaging too. Do not wish it on anyone.

Yeah fair, but we pretty much broke even the quarter he went to sleep or was rotated off ball. I would still say he was best on. Followed by Dempsey then Atkins. Then I dunno, maybe Holmes?

I gave him votes too, but I think we need him to be overtaken by Bruhn/Holmes/Dempsey/Clark. Think he’s part of the middle age group with Atkins, Parfitt, O’Connor whose ceiling is good role players, he just wasn’t competitive vs Blues and Dees - Richmond’s midfield tonight was VFL level

Went to get some grub at half time, and thought we were within a sniff.
Decided to go to sportsbar and have a pint and saw we were up mid way through 3rd.
Then a hot 19yo chick wanted to buy me drinks.
Not a bad night out in the end lol.
My mental image of bigfooty posters is that they're mostly middle aged men like me so I hope she was buying you a hot chocolate and telling you to go home old man.

Seventeenthmond after all

My mum always says if I haven't got anything nice to say don't day anything at all...

So for that reason I shan't discuss the first half.

Dempsey, Bruhn, Holmes, Bowes were all good which bodes well for the future. Conway definitely shows signs and we need to persist with him over Stanley. Neale showed some glimpses.

I still have no idea where we will finish by the end of the year. Could be anywhere from 3rd to 10th. Bizarre year.
i think you hit the nail on the head with anywhere from 3rd to 10th... Because there is a bees dick in it between 3rd and 10th... There is a huge cluster this year of good solid teams then a bunch of shit below, then Sydney sitting a shelf above.

Equality has really kicked into gear and turned the competition into an ordinary standard. Much like spreading butter over too much bread

Scott in his press conference talking of the positives of the Cameron move to the wing, how that helped with our ball movement through the middle of the ground & Cameron's impact in the 2nd half

Thinking it's a move we'll be seeing across the season

Man I still have deep hurts from that Nick Davis goal...
I was there, with my elderly, Swans’ loving mother. We went to Swans’ party, pushed her through security + when challenged I told them she was Andrew Dunkley’s grandmother. Mum stood on the stage, next to Barassi + they danced. While I was fighting tears, a crying Cat amongst happy Swans supporters.
That goal shattered me.

I love everything Rohan has done during his time at the club but not sure a 2024 version of him has the required versatility to be a sub if Ollie Henry is in the team - also really enjoyed watching Conway in the contest tonight, particularly his follow up and pressure acts at the stoppages

He could become important come finals, but agree he shouldn't take Ollie's place.
