Anyone in the know in business , knows its possible to go through a full recruitment process and end up with someone unsuitable.

What do they think this magic process tells you? whether they will win a premiership in future.
There is very little point in going through a process with someone like Lyon, since he's already pretty well a known commodity.

I was speaking to a relative of one our players and he was saying a few found out of the sacking via Twitter. They had no idea it was coming.

I’m one of those posters… used to be active here and in SS 10 years ago… kept my membership all these years but hardly been to a game since having young uns.

This year my 10yo son has been getting interested and we went to 6-7 games together. He loves Max King…

When I told him Ratts has been sacked he said… “oh, that’s a shame I really like him.”

I said, “I do too.”

“So why did he get sacked?”

“Remember how we started losing all those games from mid-season on?”

“You mean like that terrible Essendon match?”

“Yes. The club believe that Ratts couldn’t get the best out of the team any more.”

“Oh, ok, so that means they’ll get someone better who will, right?”

“Yeah, that’s the plan son.”

“Ok, well that makes sense.”

I have noticed that both on BF and SS that some lapsed posters are coming back on. I looks like Lyon is already instilling hope that we can be a real team again.

It would not at all surprise me to see Memberships spike next season.

I thought the same, but listening to SEN and talking to a few mates, Ross coming back has really divided opinions. Crazy times ahead.

They are mainly all about to get a serious wake up calls as way too many of them have been too cruisey, for too long, where it was more about talking, than walking the talk.

Too few Sinclair's at the club who were working their buts off at training, and on game day, and way too many who were ok with doing near enough, and only putting the foot down for a quarter or so.


They are about to find out what players need to do if they really want to be part of an elite team.


I suspect that Dmac is one player who will relish playing under RTB.



However to be fair to the players they had to play under the bullshit Rath Gameplan of thinking on the fly, whereas under RTB it will be all about following a well-drilled gameplan where everyone knows their role and executes it. ie Just look at how well drilled the Cats were in the GF.

Imagine if Lyon comes back, we have a huge pre-season, have a favourable fixture, and start racking up the wins from round 1.

Massive momentum and self belief. You just never know what can happen from there.

If I had a dollar for every time I’ve seen a saints fan on socials say ‘ If saints hire Lyon I’m cancelling my membership ‘ I’d be a rich man … I do think you are right as I think the support will outweigh the negative but saints fans on social media are irrationally mad about this
