  • Best individual season by a Swan in years :thumbsu:
  • Beat GWS our arch rivals THREE times :thumbsu:
  • Beat our bogey side Port for first time in eight years :thumbsu:
  • Competition was mostly shit and had to fight to get to GF :thumbsu:
  • Opposition ruckman was out :thumbsu:
  • Best ruckman we've had in years :thumbsu:
  • Three games and percentage clear on top of ladder at one stage :thumbsu:
  • Best run with injuries we've had in years :thumbsu:
  • Non-Victorian GF opponent :thumbsu:

Still couldn't even be competitive in a grand final

Horse has got an absurd amount of explaining to do.

It gets worse every time you break it down.

Maybe the members scarf or hat should have like a cross on it for every grand final you suffered through.

If you see another member with the 96,06,14,16,22,24 crosses you just give them a nod

Then of course if you meet Bedford and he has his 34,35,36,45 crosses you bow down to the old boy.
Best post EVER!
Absolutely brilliant idea!

The club on field is in such a limbo right now due to that “performance” on Saturday that there is such a disconnect with the club and its supporters from the lack of anything from the club since the debacle. No public message no nothing officially from the club apart from the good thing$ we are doing off the field.

Only the happy clappers will say nothing is wrong and that they did their best.

I think a lot of us are going to struggle to enjoy next year. I certainly will.
This board has officially jumped the shark. There's simply no excuse for this pathetic nonsense. Maybe these "happy clappers" are the real fans after all. You are free to not enjoy next season. You don't have to watch at all, but that just makes you a prime example of a fair weather fan, which is what everyone accuses us of anyway.

We lose a grand final and the ****ing sky falls in. All you geniuses saying you won't watch next season, you won't enjoy the wins, you won't renew your membership, the club is an embarrassment, you want the team gutted, you want the team to get down on their knees and apologise - you're a disgrace and certainly not to be counted on when the chips are down. ****ing entitled drama queens. I get being disappointed, but this reaction had been so far over the top that it's actually insane. Pathetic pathetic pathetic.

Will you give it a rest? We all know everyone is going to be tuning in Round 1 next year. Just let people express how they feel. The overly positive people (you) are just as annoying.

A few weeks ago, I was accused of being too negative and was told I only post in losing threads to stick the boot in. Can’t win with you lot lol.

Well, this is a losing thread I guess……;)

I think it's important to separate the fact that we got our shit rocked on Saturday from the fact that Harley, Pridham etc still have a job to do, and in reality, still run a very successful football club.

Sure, we failed to secure the ultimate measure of success in an embarrassing way again, but there are 100's of people in the footy club who work hard every day to make it a success and they deserve to be celebrated as well.

I think they're more than capable of spruiking membership numbers etc whilst still focusing on getting better next year.

All you needed to throw in was 'your not a true supporter' for being negative, and then you would have had the perfect facebook swans group post....:tearsofjoy:

You held that melt in didn’t you?
Keep on Happy Clapping

You can tell the ones that didn’t spend thousands of dollars over the last 3 years in anticipation of at least us putting up a fight only to get Groundhog Day 2 times in 3 years.

Maybe the club should apologise for that. At least the people that didn’t spend thousands spend their hard earned would get some sort of reaction from The club. Instead we get another rhetoric like “one game won’t define us.”

Are we a "very successful football club"?

If premierships are the ultimate measure, then we're barely making the Top 8 in terms of our last flag.

I'd rather be us than most, but as long as none of our players or coaches are being absolute f-wits off the field, then premierships vastly outweigh anything else.

Nothing better than getting to your seat "finally" as it takes forever to get to the Ponsfold and the game is over in the first 15mins (2022).

You then sit there for the next 2 hours getting cooked thinking WTF am i here for, i still will forever always love this club but BOYS please put up a fight and remember for the large part of the season we were the best team!!

People that hold a balanced view, rather than an unbalanced negative one, aren’t automatically “overly positive”. Perhaps from the perspective of the overly negative, it might seem so given how negative this place and people’s perspectives have become this past week.

In any case, the poster has as much as right to post their view as anyone else. Especially given a more balanced or even mildly positive perspective is currently the minority position here, so calling for others to “give it a rest” is a bit much.

Would you rather Richmond's last 15 years or Sydney's

Richmond 3 premierships including back to back.

Played in 3 grand finals .

Played finals 8 times

won the wooden spoon 1 time

Sydney 1 premiership

played in 5 grand finals

played finals 13 times

0 wooden spoons

I may be in the minority but to me 3 flags beats 1 flag in terms of success over 15 years.

Trick question? Richmond everyday of the week because we wouldnt drop off a cliff like they have.

That’s one club. Let’s say Hawthorn too. Throw in Geelong.

Who else would you rather be?

Easy to cherry pick the few clubs that have had more success than us rather than the majority who haven’t.

You cant really cherry pick the club you want to be then rewrite the history to make the choice better…. 🤦‍♂️

He/she can post all they want, but don't call people "pathetic" for being upset about a loss. So no "give it a rest" is not a bit much. And I will say it again "Give it a rest". Now back to footy.
