Re: The Trade Thread

Warnock from Melbourne has requested a trade. He is a fairly solid fullback who would come very cheap considering he played very few games this year. I do remember watching him last year and thinking this kid has got some potential. Maybe worth a look?

I like the Aaron Davey proposal, however not as a forward, but as a quaterback with precision skills in the Leon/Yarran mould. Roo would not be able to complain about delivery if it was coming from Flash's boot.

Fullback? He's as skinny as a toothpick.

Re: The Trade Thread

Amon Buchanan? Anyone??? I love throwing names up lol

Is fast and could be leaving Brisbane, had ties with RL, demps and Schides, would be cheapy?

Re: The Trade Thread

We are in no need for a player like buchanan. Firstly we have a good stock of small forwards, second he is a GIIIIMP.

http://thewhitemaggot.com/2011/09/07/east-fremantle-devastated-at-losing-rhys-palmer/

WAFL club East Fremantle are reportedly devastated by the news that on-baller Rhys Palmer will leave the club to join Greater Western Sydney next year.

“It’s a massive blow” East Fremantle legend Brendan Krummel said yesterday. “Given his abilities, we knew week-in-week-out that Rhys would be available for selection in the WAFL.”

Rumours yesterday that Palmer, who edged out Cyril Rioli and an empty wheat silo to win the 2008 AFL Rising Star Award, was the target of several AFL clubs, proved to be incorrect.

The White Maggot understands the rumours have since been sourced to none other than Mrs Palmer and her five daughters.

Palmer is not the first state-league player to be poached by a new AFL franchise. Just last year, the Port Adelaide Magpies, a SANFL club, lost Nathan Krakouer to the Gold Coast Suns.

Re: The Trade Thread

Gee thats incredibly bad news for Freo. Rys Palmer is going to be an absolute gun. His first season was incredible, then injuries but still so young. It would be like us loosing Steven. Even worse. On the other hand GWS have signed 2 incredibly talented young players. Add Scully to that and the list is only getting started. There will be more to come, theres still 8 teams playing footy.

LOL. You sure do. He's flat out getting on the park for Brisbane. Hell no.

No it wouldnt.
Because Rhys Palmer has his rising star award and was Pick 7 2007, he will command far more compensation than Steven at pick 42 the same year.
We would be absolutely boned by the system if they took Steven now.

Re: The Trade Thread

Rhys Palmer looked great in his first year when he won the Rising Star but since he came back from his knee reco he's looked pretty ordinary and was only a fringe player. I don't think Freo would be too upset to lose him and get a compensation pick or two.

Nah can't have him sorry. Too old and slow.

We need speed.

Well we have speed with guys like Ledger and Stanley, just need to get their hammies sorted out.

And their talent.

Wasn't he the little *** who instigated the 3 Qtr time melee last year...punch Rooey in the middle of the back or something?

No Thanks.

SS, there has never been an issue with Stanley's talent imo. It looks to be something not quite clicking between the ears!!!

Re: The Trade Thread

Yeah I think Stanley definitely has the talent just a question over his mental attitude, ie. whether he is desperate enough to make it at AFL level. Obviously he wasn't helped by injuries this season either but he really needs to start delivering on his talent soon if he wants to stay at the club.

It would help if he could stop getting injured too. Taller players take longer to recover from injuries to.

Re: The Trade Thread

lets pick up Fevola. I know we have had alot of trouble with the lovett situation and the stupid school girl issue so we might be a bit gunshy in recruiting him, but he is the major goalkicking forward we need in for premiership window.

He seems to be recovering well, we will pick him up for almost free, pay him peanuts, and if he does anything wrong just sack him.

We have to take risks while we still have a shot at a premiership... i would hate for us to die wondering

I don't mind the idea of Fev, but...

Riewoldt. Koschitzke. Walsh. Archer. Stanley. Johnson. Siposs. Gamble. Lynch. All trying to get a gig in our forward line as the the three talls.

Add Fev into that mix.

I'd like him, but he's not worth the risk, considering we don't really need him.
