Sam is still rucking 10 minutes into the last - not sure they're going to have him backing up off a 5 day break

They'll definitely want him ready to go when needed, but it's going to be brave to run him right out today as they have, and then ask him to back up at AFL level in 5 days in a real tough game where we'll be interstate and against a hostile crowd.

This has been a positive hitout for Sam, but playing 4 quarters in the VFL, when it'd only be a 5-day break to the next match & with it being an interstate trip, raises a few questions for Wednesday nights selection

We've been conservative with selection on 6 day breaks, and generally have those in the selection frame play controlled minutes in the VFL is they're any chance for selection

At a guess, Sam could well finish around 80% TOG - doesn't seem like the move if they wanted him to play Thursday night

On this game alone you wouldn't promote anyone to the seniors.

That said I reckon they'll take SDK up simply because he's gotten through unscathed.

But does he play off a 5 day break? If he played full game I would suspect not?
