I agree, but there is a fair way between that and people saying he is "fat and lazy". He's absolutely not fat by any definition of the term, and I doubt he's lazy, either. I'm sure he's worked bloody hard on his body to this stage - but he will need to work even harder, and probably a whole lot smarter. Being at an elite football club will help that.

It's not "being PC" to point out when something is completely inaccurate. If people want to say that his conditioning is not yet at AFL standard, I think that's fair. If they want to say he's "fat" then they're just talking garbage.

Is he fat in comparison to his peers?

Geezuz.. the kid isnt a rory laird, ned mchenry or ben keays..

3 blokes that try their hardest but just arent AFL standard..

Fit as but cant play footy.. two of them can barely kick a footy.

This is a kid who has a shitload of raw talent. Speed to burn and can find the goals.

If he was fat this year (and I personally didnt think he was too big- maybe a bit of puppy fat) then look out when he loses it and Darren Burgess gets him to full fitness..
Cause his “fatness” this year certainly didnt hinder his speed and agility.

I get “jake Stringer” vibes.. without the jake stringer ********edness obviously.

He can be a medium forward who can pinch hit as a bull through the midfield like Stringer did at his peak..

Have no doubt the club has kept him under wraps all year to tank his value and he also had a couple of niggles last preseason..

Reckon he will surprise many in the years to come. Massive potential to become a fuxkn absolute weapon.

Got him for virtually nothing.. whats to lose.
Ben Keays and Laird aren't duds. McSpudry is/was.
Laird may be past his prime but has had a very good career. Ben Keays is no superstar but is a very capable AFL footballer.

I remember the distinct moment when the oldest Crows player was younger than me and I thought, "oh no, this is it".
When Graham Johncock retired he was the last Crow older than me. A month later we traded in James Podsiadly so I got a short reprieve.
