Culley plays as a forward in the u18's but doesn't play there well enough to get drafted. Moves into the midfield and within half a season is taken #1 onto an AFL list

Eagles MC: Let's debut him in the forward line! 🧌
Trew was named HFF on his debut and attended 17 centre bounces.

Let’s wait and see how he’s used.

Would like to have seen Trew given another go, but he was also very quiet last week so can see why he made way for O'Neill

Effectively it's
SPS -> Witherden
Trew -> O'Neill
Naitanui -> Jamieson
Rioli -> Cripps
Petruccelle -> Culley

SPS to Witherden summed up best by Carbine Chaos above. Winder/Naish for Petruccelle only other that might have been done, but I think most people would be happy to see Culley getting a go.

FWIW I think the rest of the selections are sound. I still think Trew is a pretty simple delisting and doesn’t have it.

But gifting Witherden games when SPS is well and truly earning them through his tackling and work ethic is absolutely bizarre to me.

Think baby giraffe on ice, still too young to be an effective ruck
So you reckon Reeves and McEvoy should do well then? Reeves had about 30 hitouts last week against Reily O'Brien (he's a good tap ruck to advantage) and McEvoy played fwd and ruck.

Didn’t the entire board go on and on during last trade period that we only want SPS if he is going to play as a mid/fwd and not a defender where Carlton played him?

I think he was playing that role in an Ad hoc capacity last week and isn’t even competing with Witherden for the same position.

Happy for SPS to come back into the side in a midfield/forward capacity.

SPS is def a midfielder, his great strength is his ability in congestion to slow time, his decision making and skills. He has a lack of leg speed needed to play outside and HB, but probably needs to build his tank.

What has Witherden done to come back into the side full stop?

Win 30 cheap touches in the WAFL?

Twain intensifies

That don’t impress me much. BS someone putting in a shift loses his spot to a genuine drifter.

They will have a field day again Jamieson, Williams might provide some better opposition

Appreciate it mate, what's your genuine tips for the game?

If Naitanui, Rioli and a few others were in I think we would have gone better, but i'm expecting the usual Hawks fast start blowing us away early and we won't catch you from there.

Have one last look at him to see if we keep him? Not sure. Strikes me as one who will do well when the team does. Always seems to be reading from a different playbook than his teammates. Coming in and out of the side can't help.

A few of the pessimistic fans are scared because you were so competitive, especially in the middle against Richmond.
