I reckon the SCs on the investigation panel will show a passing interest
I’m actually being serious, I have no idea when it happened but a couple of years ago, declaring conflicts of interest and stepping aside because of perception was common practice.

All of a sudden, we have no time for that, or straight out denial mentality has crept into society.

It’s strange because it’ll catch up to people.

Yep, I hear you.

How did Hawthorn not twig that hiring the cousin of a key player in the whole thing was a bad look?

What even is a massive conflict of interest
Something that the AFL ignores completely yet tarnishes it in so many ways.
Even those in the footy media get all huffy about it when it is raised like we should all assume that they are all above reproach (which I tend to find indicates that something is up). It just wouldn't cut the mustard anywhere else. Even the perceptions of conflicts of interest like our former coach making the call on priority picks whilst tidying up his resume for * are terrible but don't warrant a mention.

Such an incestuous industry where they never call it out because it will make things awkward the next time they meet at a function or match.

When I first read the story with the name redacted, I thought what a poor piece of journalism because thats source of the story or close to it. and kinda laughed because it’s a sports reporter, and you were nailing this guy for being self taught.
Stories like that in meaningful work would/could get people killed.

It’s a strange game they’re all playing.

But what if all you ever heard was that everyone loves golf.

Would you not want to hear from people who shared your view?

I'll second the golf thing, and say honestly no, as golf is very popular in Australia I have been hearing about how everyone loves it all my life, my brother really loved it for one, but honestly I dont want to have discussions with other people that share my view at all, I am just happy avoiding it and not even thinking about it.
Now obviously that doesnt work so well as a simile because alot of peoples gripe is that AFLW stories often feature on the main AFL social media pages and club websites e.t.c so it's harder to avoid I get that. But at the end of the day I wish I could make those blokes that constantly savage the womens game realize that the seas wont boil and the skies wont fall if they resist the urge to make the same old mean-spirited, pithy, childish disparaging remarks on social media everyF**KINGtime an AFLW related article is published. It is not constructive.

As someone who doesn't like golf at all i can say it is much better in person, just like aflw

I can't believe Clarko was able to innocently go to an AFLW game and watch the team representing the club he will be coaching next year. I was so outraged, I sent an email to the club expressing my disappointment. I was informed by the club that this will not happen again, and if Clarko was ever going to go and watch another AFLW game involving the North Melbourne Football Club, he wont be able to do it with such freedom.

My two cents in general on the AFLW is that the teething troubles it is having are clear for all to see and can be very frustrating at times, but people need to actually watch a bigger sample size to understand it in the context of how it is currently played (i.e the current skill level dictates a particular game style that looks nothing like modern mens footy but has a particular brand of intensity and defense heavy intrigue of its own)
Also, like most things in life, any problems are essentially Essendons fault. The league expanded WAY TOO QUICKLY, even the most ardent supporter cant deny that, and it might be nice if the bombers appreciated this and waited for a few years, but of course not, after years of snubbing the concept and wanting nothing to do with it, they suddenly feel they are missing out, snap their fingers and AFL house comes-a-runnin like a white gloved butler and hands them their own team on a silver platter, stretching the talent pool beyond all reason.
Essendon fc-severely damaging football competitions since 2013 👍

'Silence of the ums'

Shut the **** up about AFLW.

Really big question is who's name is redacted in Egan's report?

Noting it could be two names. One present when the abortion order given, one who he is told he will be living with.

Now to quote Tom Browne it's $1.05 that Ian was told he'd be living with Leon Egan.

So the cousin of the bloke who wrote the investigation report was also part of one the most serious accusations?

Yet when the report leaks that name is the only one redacted?

Holy shit.

Funny on the main boards it would seem any NMFC fan is showing bias if they don't believe the stories as stated.

But on the other hand it would seem that the majority of posters don't believe al clarko when he states it didn't happen like that.

A smattering of confirmation bias going on.

Best if you all keep well clear of the thread, they are nutters.

oh well as we indeed say.

I didn't realize that people living in their parents basements could possess such strong opinions on things they know nothing about.

Someone wrote a response to a post of mine that was so long and actually expected me to read it.

I am unsure of any living arrangements they may have. I also don't want to be seen besmirching any of the individuals, but collectively they are now feeding off each other.

Unless al clarko is castrated, then sent to the gallows they will not be happy.

My point was just to warn our forum that the thread on the MB isn't good for ones health.

And I am kind of proud of myself that I didn't go any or the majority of them. It is a complete waste of time posting in there.

IT is weird AF!

I'm happy to be seen besmirching some of those individuals. Their behaviour is disgusting.

Ooph, that is a backhanded compliment which supports the messiah's point of view.

It is like saying I go to watch midget comedians not because their material is funny but I just like to laugh at how they look.
Guess so, I actually really enjoy watching our AFLW team and feel mentally invested in our players progress.

Yet, from a capability point of view, I doubt they would beat the seniors of my local team (possibly not the U19s either).

This is not an issue to me though, thrilled we have an AFLW team, they need to be great in their comp (not some other comp which is not relevant to their situation).

Not sure I'll ever go to the main board, I fleetingly went to the Tigers board once and got a Day Off.

DMs calling me a p***k have fortunately been few and far between on the North board.

I reckon I could handle watching a mini golf tournament

Channel 7's ratings figures suggest you're in the minority:

It’s kinda strange that this is a topic that is debated so vigorously behind anonymity, yet in my experience barely raises a ripple when you go about your day to day business. Maybe the moral high ground is a place that is best visited under a cloak of secrecy?

Anyway, those hoping to assert their moral superiority (or * bias) by backing a Clarkson execution are likely to be sorely disappointed. To those I say…
