Have to feel a bit for West Coast, the side they put out there was embarrassingly bad and they had to switch their best player to defense after a few quarters.

Really not much they could do
I totally underestimated how bad they are atm. I think our 2020 side would have smashed them.

As good a win as you could hope for, even against 18th on the ladder at home

It’s awesome that Tex can add that to his career resume, as well. Also puts him well in the Coleman race
Yep, after coming back from Darwin, I was expecting a forgettable 7 goal win. As bad as West Coast are, you can't fault a win like that.

As frustrating as our away performances have been, if you offered me 7-6 going into the bye, I would've bitten your hand off.

Tex. What a legend. A genuine human - strengths, weaknesses, successes, mistakes. Ultimately a wonderful footballer - a much deserved 10!

Last week I posted that despite frustration we shouldn't go too negative after the Darwin loss, and that it'd be important to not go over the top with praise if we won handsomely today.

And here we are. That was a glorified training drill. But fun to watch.

7W 6L 116% at the bye. Take that? Yep.

Whether we snag a finals spot or just miss, we've got half a season of really important footy for the squad in its trajectory - some good matchups at home, 3 important away games in Melbourne (finally) that are all building blocks.

Still a lot for our coaches to sort out too. Namely, midfield/ruck/CB in general.
Well written. :thumbsu:

I know I posted in the changes thread, and possibly a rose coloured view of things, but honestly, you are a pretty good team in terms of last week. Bad teams don’t get six goals ahead on the road against a fellow finals challenger. Yes what happened (the nine goal run) wasn’t good and to be able to arrest the momentum earlier is something that needs to be worked on, but that you were able to come back and then hit the front was a good sign 👍

On the right path. Just need to keep building the midfield. Like that Nicks put Rachele in there, more of that after the bye!

Jordan Butts was solid today. Albeit against no competition found plenty of the ball (18 touches) and had some dare and run from half back. Thought he played better when Murray went off the ground, even found himself getting a handball receive in the middle of the ground as well. Looks to be building after a slow start to the year.

SOme other good things

Michealaney - this cannot be his first season. He is insanely composed.

Jones - Biggest improver of the year by the length of the straight. Showing the speed that was a big reason he was drafted so high. He's tough, fast and by foot delivers. Not just our best 22 now, in our best players.

Fog - maybe not kicking the bag, but he is a major presence now. Brings the ball to ground seems untacklable. The future is good.

Tillthorpe - As good a mark as was Tippett and better below the knees than I think any player his size. The future is very good.

Not much to learn from this game.

Soligo shouldn't keep his spot though. He's had a good season, but his bad games are unacceptably bad. However, up until now he always followed one up with another run of good games.

Last week he was awful. However there was no bounce back Today and he was mediocre at best. This should tip the scales towards "drop".

Good TT comparison

Tex might not be the greatest Crow of all time, but he’s the most loveable Crow of all time. That includes his ability, his personality, his character and his loyalty.
Summed it up really well, both posts.

He's human --- makes mistakes, like all of us, and has never pretended to be flawless --- but he has great talent and even now as a father and senior of the Club has that same goofy boyishness as that kid from Broken Hill all those years ago.
Did you see the team get around him after his first goal?
It's clear that he still loves the Crows. The Crows (and us, too) love him back.
