I know I posted in the changes thread, and possibly a rose coloured view of things, but honestly, you are a pretty good team in terms of last week. Bad teams don’t get six goals ahead on the road against a fellow finals challenger. Yes what happened (the nine goal run) wasn’t good and to be able to arrest the momentum earlier is something that needs to be worked on, but that you were able to come back and then hit the front was a good sign 👍

On the right path. Just need to keep building the midfield. Like that Nicks put Rachele in there, more of that after the bye!
I've always liked the Eagles so don't take this the wrong way but what is happening with your club dude? I didn't think anyone could outdo Burton/Hass for sabotaging their own club through terrible conditioning. Please tell me you guys are taking a broom to your footy dept. about now.

Summed it up really well, both posts.

He's human --- makes mistakes, like all of us, and has never pretended to be flawless --- but he has great talent and even now as a father and senior of the Club has that same goofy boyishness as that kid from Broken Hill all those years ago.
Did you see the team get around him after his first goal?
It's clear that he still loves the Crows. The Crows (and us, too) love him back.
Our greatest ever clubman

stoked Tex kicked ten.. dont know that anyone had a bad night.. Pedlars kicking was a bit off tonight.

but some real paper and cracks feelings…

we just smashed a side that is bottom and has been absolutely decimated by injuries.. at home.

it was a relatively easy training drill.

next game is the Pies at the G and now, due to all our spuds having their golden tickets renewed, we’ll go in unchanged and we’ll get trounced.

then it will be “back the boys in” unchanged unless forced the week after against North.. which we’ll probably win big in…golden tickets renewed.. rinse and repeat.

i cannot believe we were 100 points up and still had sloane and keays getting runs in the middle.. do we think these two are gonna be there for our next flag push?

could we seriously not find the opportunity to give some young lads more CB time at that point for some experience?.. apart from throwing a few bones to Rachele in the last?..

and why the fxxk was Kelly allowed to run around like an un-registered dog ALL game?.. would've been the perfect opportunity to give some guys some experience and training at tagging by putting them on him for stints.

.... if you offered me 7-6 going into the bye, I would've bitten your hand off.
After the first 2 losses, I predicted we'd be around 4-9, maybe 5-8, and that Nicks'd be sacked around the bye.
It's cost me a bottle of good grog to that gin-drinkin' Mama, jenny61_99, happy holiday wherever you are, and I'm very happy (@ 7-6) to be wrong.

Not many team seem to tag players anymore and we already know about these cracks, we can't play away well. Soligo was playing in the midfield start of the game and did very well.

Not much to learn from this game.

Soligo shouldn't keep his spot though. He's had a good season, but his bad games are unacceptably bad. However, up until now he always followed one up with another run of good games.

Last week he was awful. However there was no bounce back Today and he was mediocre at best. This should tip the scales towards "drop".

him and Dawson the onky mids at the moment that will run hard forward with the ball and try and break forward of the contest. No way he should g9 back to sanfl. Sloane and Murphy should be the first 2 out.

You can't complain too much after a 20 goal win. Last week's game still rankles though.

Mixed bag:
Sholl. Some really good, some really not so good. Should have had three goals if not for an off the ball free kick.

Rankine. Some sublime stuff but some stupid shit.

Good:
Great for Tex to bring up a career best game in a milestone match. I really hope he gets another chance to play in finals.

Our link up play looked a million dollars, albeit against weak opposition. We didn't slack off at any point.

Milera again. His last month has been the best he's played since 2018. Looks confident in his body again.

Thilthorpe's play up the field is improving. He's going to be a brute in a couple of years time.

Rachele is learning to pass off to team mates instead of always having a ping.

Bad:
We still give up too many goals from basic skill errors and poor decisions when in possession of the ball in our defensive 50.

Ugly:
Having to put up with the label of home track bullies.

Sad:
West Coast. They're as bad a side as I've ever seen.

That was fun to watch. Yes West Coast are awful and it doesn't really mean that much, but was so good to see Tex play like that in his 250th and kick 10.

Tex has been such an important part of our club over the last 15 years, he gives everything he has for this club and bleeds blue, red and yellow. So happy for him to have a game like this and I hope he has a good night tonight to celebrate.

No, absolutely, definitely am not taking that the wrong way 👍 I wrote a rather (long) post in the Non Crows thread a while ago, but at this stage, all indications are there is no broom going through the footy department.

There were changes made at the end of last season, new fitness boss, additional development staff and somewhat of a restructure.

The preseason was really good, players fit and we were entering the season with next to no injuries except for Naitanui… but then came the game against Fremantle and things have spiralled since. A lot of bad luck this year, but also other recurrent injuries that need to be reviewed for sure.

A huge combination of factors have led to where we are, but long story short, we have some decisions to make on some injury prone older players and our fans are calling for aggressive list management befitting a club in rebuild. Interesting times ahead.

The major source of ire is Nisbett (CEO). Been at the club since 1989, been CEO since 1999 after overthrowing Brian Cook. It’s well time for him retire, but he is digging in and if you believe rumours, attempting to put the blame solely on Simpson and make him the scapegoat. The club could do with a freshen up off-field.

It never sat right that Tom Lynch had kicked 10 but Tex hadn't.

This has brought balance to the universe
That was an awesome 10 by Lynch though...but you would have thought that Tex would have had more

Tex might not be the greatest Crow of all time, but he’s the most loveable Crow of all time. That includes his ability, his personality, his character and his loyalty.

Only the Adelaide board’s biggest knobs will disagree with this.
He comfotably slots in at CHF in what would be out all time greatest team

what are you on about.. I enjoyed that game.

i just think there‘s a lot more to unpack from it than simply standing around in a circle jerking off over it.

we have had one of the worst midfields in the comp for a few years now. We had the perfect opportunity in that second half to pump some midfield experience into some of our youth and we instead went with our old failed faithfuls for most of it.

when asked at 3/4 time if there would be some changes made Nicksy responds with “nah, not really”… “maybe a few CB’s for Rachele”..

thats shit coaching.

he actually still believes keays and sloane are his gun midfielders. Its bewildering.

we only won the centre clearances by 2…. 2!!… against one of the worst teams ever fielded in an AFL game.
