With the week off before the finals, why the floating last round? Having a Sunday before the finals no longer stuffs you around with a short break before the finals; so there's no reason those games couldn't have been locked in.

The problem with a summer league is that it gets really hot in summer. Footy in 40 degree heat would not be comfortable to play or watch.

Monday nights when the Monday is a public holiday would work OK. There's no reason there can't be multiple ANZAC Day games again; but to allow a decent break between games, any team playing on ANZAC Day would have to have a Sunday game in the next round.
