He doesn’t have a contract. He hasn’t signed the one we have offered to him.
If he doesn’t sign it then he delists himself. He then sits in limbo waiting for a club to offer him one. He risks not getting one at all

I just thought that if your current club offered you a contract you couldn’t then become a delisted free agent. If you can it’s any wonder no clubs took him as an rfa

As I said, I don’t care what the reason.

Hill and Jones wanted back to Melbourne, could have requested any club, Butler just wanted a game, plenty clubs after Howard...I don’t care.

Each of those has something to improve us and in the media it’s just
“St.Kilda - destination club.”

Maybe it helps more players in the next year or two request us because of success, not just money. It all builds momentum. It has to start somewhere.

Next years first has been categorically taken off the table by lethers. And if you go with the media this morning it's not in any of the speculated trades.

Well he did say we were saving pick 18 for something.

We have been very lucky with player retention and loyalty for a long, long time. Not since pretty much Heath Black have we traded someone who doesn't want to be there...

All of a sudden Stuv wants out AND we are forcing Acres and most likely Bruce out too? Imo setting a a dangerous precedence trading players who want to play for us and have been the utmost loyal to us.
Stuv wants out.
Bruce Wants out for the cash (the same reason he initially came to us).
Acres wants out for more opportunity and to go home.
I’m not sure too many of these blokes will be crying.
We need to maximise what we get for them. Unemotionally.

Tom Browne saying Sydney might give 5+9+32 (Jones) for Daniher. That would be horrendous list management from a club that is normally so sensible. Wouldn’t surprise me if each of Papley, Jones and p5 have better careers that Daniher from this point.
If baffling they are spending that much on a key forward when they dont need one while ignoring their weak midfield.
Had one of the worst clearances differentials ever recored this year yet nothing done to address it.

Not to mention the salary dump each of them provide. Acres 500 Bruce about 500 and stuv even more.

Yep, there's no like for like replacement at present.

We've got Coff listed at 191cm and 82kg (so very similar to Blake) who presumably we will look to move to the midfield at some point. Bytel is listed at 188cm and 78kg so longer term he could be that player for us with a few preseasons (and he's 19 1/2 so it's quite conceivable he could grow another cm or two.
They would of earmarked players who would of been excess next year and having Hunter Clark , Jones , Bytel , Coffield , Sinclair , Hill , Savage --- Acres could well of spent a lot of time at Sandringham.

Not sure Acres wants out or to go home. Had no desire to leave Melbourne.

More like Lethlean has pushed him out the door to make room for others.

Except they pick up players like Scully and Patton for chickenfeed.

Yeah but we have tried that too (eg Freeman). But they are also a destination club - we are just on our way to become one and I am sure those type of opportunities will come up.

I like the ruthlessness the Saints are showing with the list. It may not be to all supporters taste but these days you have to be brutally honest with your list - something we have not been in the past.

Yeah absurd. Even if Daniher was a sure thing to perform well it wouldn't be a particularly logical target, let alone when his groin issues are still an unknown.
