Can we just not enagge with the crazy posts?

(and calling anything "PlayStation" is a cringey boomer comment)

Interesting ....this convo yesterday, on Crouch & his type of midfielder, coinicidentally followed my comments from a few days back

Listen from the 4 minute mark .....some really interesting POV's ....which also support your POV

Nice try.

Zero chance I listen to Kane.

This offseason wishlist I would consider…

Trade Doedee for 3 first rounders which then are passed onto NM for JHF.

Crouch + 2nd for first round pick to select Keelor.

Use first pick on tall speedy midfielder.

Would also trade Sholl and later pick for late first or early second.

Then trade for another player like Dawson.

Need to keep using whatever assets to build like Port has done in the past.
At least you called it a wish list...

However, I completely agree re the more adventurous and aggressive Port trading philosophy. We can only expect so much by trading in middle/lower status players from other clubs. We've done this a lot.

Jordan Dawson is the exception and I hope the club continues seeking players of this level or above. Even if we have to trade out some of our 10-22 range players. They are easily replaced and top 10 talent should be the target.

Wouldn’t surprise me if they improve next year with new coach re the midfield
The three keys for them are JHF (if he stays), Thomas and Powell

LDU seems to have really broken out and Simpkin is Simpkin, but if those three really start to come on and not stagnate, their midfield will be in a good place

If only Crouch had the currency of Wingard we might have been in business.

Hopper is not someone I'd target. 26 next year, usually mids decline after 28. Very good honest inside mid with no versatility.
With our lack of midfield depth Hopper is the exact target I would be going for at the right price

At 26 his best footy is ahead of him and he fills an age gap in our list where we lack quality plays in that 26-28 year age bracket

Just discussing NORTH on SEN ....and absolutely correct, last year North had Cunnington (mid), Tarrant (FB), Ziebell (DEF) and Hall ( HBF) .....that's a lot of experience out in one hit, particularly in DEF

Then they weaned Goldy out of the R1 role as part of the ruck handover

Why North played Ziebell at HF, when Hall & Tarrant was missing is a joke .....they hold that defensive trio & add Corr ...that's a great start

Too much experience out this year

He is the exact sort of player i would target if it didn't mean handing over a top 5 pick this year or one next year. If it was a big contract as an RFA and then an early 2nd rounder, absolutely. But our top 5 picks this year and next have to be off the table unless one goes for a JHF

We do not need senior bodies through the midfield. We can mix Laird and Keays with kids for the next few years.

Personally, I think Laird needs to go back, and Keays needs to split his time between midfield and forward.

I don't think either are in your best couple of mids, and Hopper certainly could be.

Still need to sort out their key positions though.

Agreed.

We should have plenty of cap space to target a quality mid aged midfielder like Hopper or Brayshaw.

It should be a priority.
