He never use to, was a very good kick, stayed on his feet and was creative. He was when we had Kelly in there as a genuine 3rd defender. He left, we made Doedee play 3rd defender rather than sweeper and he has gone to s**t.
Doedee’s ball drop is far too high. Elite half backs have penetrating kicks out of defence so the ball goes the furthest with the least hang time. Doedee has never been an elite kick or decision maker.

Contracted until end of 2023
Darcy Fogarty
Did we only offer Dawson 4 years? I thought it was 5.

He's definitely a need. Murray and Cox would be a good combo with Butts as depth. The problem with Butts is that he is purely a shutdown defender and doesn't have any offensive side to his game plus his kicking is not good. We also need another interceptor as well if Doedee keeps his current form.
Can I suggest a little secret? So secret our coaches haven't even considered it.
JOSH WORRELL!!!

I don’t think Murray is ever going to become that elite, intercepting, play making CHB. That said he’s fine for now and I agree that resources are best spent elsewhere. All of this could of been avoided of course if McAsey had become the player we drafted him to be. But now it’s just yet another position we have to fill due to diabolically bad drafting.

I would really like to see Murray given a stint forward with great vertical leap and strong hands, could be a point of difference to a forward that sometimes looks very stagnant

Lel, you comparing the left leg and footy iq of Young with doedee who has horrible decision making, can’t keep his feet and 9 irons his kicks ?

Jesus Christ people post some stupid exaggerated shit on here

Could anyone else see us trading Mcadam out? He is 27 (28 next may) & has some currency you would think. Won't play in our next premiership you wouldn't think
Very much doubt it, when on he's easily our most productive small forward...and then there's his aerial ability and pressure capabilities.

And it's another week and another puff piece on AFC site about McHenry trying to convince supporters he is of value
Wtf? Are we really struggling that much that we now need puff pieces about a bog average fringe player every week?

If they want to interest us, give us puff pieces about Rachele, TT, Berry, Soligo etc

It’s as if AFC think McSpudry is one of our better up and coming players. We all know how this ends - with 200+ games and no success.

My bet is they (the club) read these boards and might be in damage control

Except that Doedee is playing like a dour KPD at the moment, when we already have two of those with basically zero creativity/intercept capabilities. I’m not enjoying the Butts/Murray/Doedee combo at the moment, mostly due to Doedee being relatively sh!t

Correct our backline has all become 'dour' - look at our possession count amongst the back 6 most are lucky to break 10 disposals each week rarely does one of them crack 15 - this is in a side that has lost 13 games. Hamill is showing signs of being creative but Smith, Dodee have gone backwards as far as starting play from the back half.

We create very little from defense and in fact our players don't get anywhere near enough of the ball when the opposition attack.
