Not sure why they’d have thought an easy win, we still beat them even last year and they weren’t that much better than us even over the whole season.

With 3 games to go both sides were 8-11.
Was all about $$$ for the * marketing department. Really between us or the Pies (maybe Hawks) as the only logical choice. As * plays Pies on Anzac day we were the no brainer.

After the game, I watched the footage of Durds walking his sister through the banner. Just watched the short interview with them both on Roaming Brian and I'm not crying, you are.

Love that the club are doing small things like this 💙
Saw them run through the banner and wondered who it was. Such a great lad

Cripps also took some 6 yr olds through the banner. They kept running straight to the centre. Pretty sure I saw the * midfielders flinch. Cotts as the sub went and collected them to prevent a melee.

the respect he shows her - even to the extent of asking her if she would like to talk about her vision rather than speaking on her behalf as if she wasn't there
I was going to say exactly the same thing. The parents have raised that family right - obviously trying to help empower her as much as possible

Lewis Young has been an incredible pick up.

Still young (pardon the pun), great interceptor and stepping up as our main key defender. He was 4th in line at the start of the year and now he's locked in for the long time. Partnering with Weitering, Marchbank, McGovern for the long term.

Looking solid!!!
I reckon Gov is surplus. Race for who stays fittest for longest: Gov v Marchy. I’d prefer Marchy by the length of Royal parade.

But he is great by foot for his size -- surprising why dogs let him go ..
Absolutely. I was responding to posters criticism of being occasionally outbodied. He’s not a monster yet, winning contests with guile will occasionally backfire in 1 v 1 contests with the brutes.

Yes By the time he is 25 he will be a real weapon down back .. put 5 Kg on him with some more experience -he will be pushing back in those same contests -- he has ticker

Brain fade.
Speaking of weird moments, how was that odd kick by Jack Silvagni after he intercepted handball by Bumbers in the middle of ground. Instead of handballing to man running past him, he decides some weird arse little dribble kick I never seen before and it worked..lol.. As BT said, he could of handballed it.

Think he was shaping to kick when he spotted the teammate (Newnes? Newman?) and made the last second adjustment. He had two players closing in on him if I remember right, so may not have thought he had time to handball when he was already committed to kicking.

He was almost our worst in the first half - fumbly, turned it over a couple of times. Had a really nice end to the game, and I guess that's all you can ask for, but I hope he's one we can replace eventually.

Just flat out wrong here, mate. Conditions were poor, he was no more fumbly than most players.

He had two turnovers in the first half, neither of them anything to get upset about. The first was a 40m territory kick off a standing start, from the back of a stoppage, under an attempted Essendon smother. The second was a bailout kick around the body, as he was being tackled, and even then it was almost perfectly placed for Cottrell to mark, had Guelfi not been sprinting back with the flight to mark.

Take a little time to review his game and I think you might be surprised. AFL app, go to the match centre for our game and they've got timestamped and annotated clips for some of the better performers:

She has the same eye condition as one of my best mates. His got about 10% vision, and only in black and white. So he goes for Collingwood. His parents sent him to normal school so he learnt how to survive without special consideration. We hardly ever remember he is blind, despite the fact he’s often called a blind campaigner.
