I don't see how we get a 2nd round pick, future or otherwise, for a guy who has played 41 games in 6 years. Career best 14 goals from 11 games in 2022. 3 games for 1 goal this year. He's never going to be better than depth at any club in the league. Contracted or not, GWS aren't going overpay for a player like this.

If it was the other way around and we were looking at bringing him in from GWS, would we be happy to give up a 2nd rounder?

Well people are talking band 1 level contract for Ben McKay, beggars belief really. Just glad we aren’t in the mix, but does show the added value of height.

We are not getting anything of real value for Himmleberg. Talks of a 2nd round pick are crazy. Just because he is contracted doesn't mean we will suddenly get way overs for him. Him being contracted moves his value from a 4th rounder to a 3rd rounder.

Nah... depth is worth way more than a literal nothing pick... especially ones that are contracted ... tall ruck forwards are very rare... he has value.

The VFL mouthpieces have been sprouting this from the start - despite not knowing who the bidding clubs were or the likely contract details. They did this so the VFL could justify gifting North more high end picks.
