But he doesn't stuff his shot on goal or kick it to the opposition frequently......hayward this year stats is murphy have a look
its straight swap three way hayward grundy mcadam or its nothing maybe throw in a late pick but hayward has been rubbish this year
Himmelburg could take Haywards home in Sydney.I'm loving this Murphy for Hayward trade option
Maybe not, we still might have got Dawson and Rankine but have no first this year.Jhf was always a massive risk for them.. too bad for them and lucky for us they turned down our ridiculous offer
Probably would have. The question is whether he would have stayed with us. Again, probably.Maybe not, we still might have got Dawson and Rankine but have no first this year.

Its because he isnt a star mid. So some choose to diminish a career and playing ability. I agree, I think in our forward line he could prove to create a real 7 player threat. Walker, Rankine, Fogarty, Thilthorpe, Pedlar, Rachele and Hayward. Not to mention Gollant on the fringes. It would allow better rotations into the middle with Pedlar, Berry, Rachele etc. I definitely think Hayward would be a massive get.
Yep , a look at his stats suggest there is plenty to work withPeople here forget the old Swannies are pretty professional. They don’t suffer fools and they don’t gift games.
Whatever you blokes might think of his raw stats, young Hayward has been a constant in a pretty successful system. Would walk into the crows 22. Good recollection of Will from school days. He’ll make your team better
That may also tell you he’s played his role and he’s played it consistently and successfully. Missed very few games since starting in 2017. Would you think swannies are a club that know wheat from chaff? Show no signs of wanting him gone either.Yep , a look at his stats suggest there is plenty to work with
The only knock could be his numbers have stayed static his whole career - drifting around the 10-12 disposal average . But 159 goals and Inside 50 tackle counts suggests he works hard .
Playing exclusively HFF would contribute to those disposal numbers but he seems to be on par with others
Dollars? We missed out on Day.I have to wonder what Haywards motivation is for leaving the Swans (if indeed this has any validity).
Seems to love Sydney, perfect age bracket in the Swans, plays in a team making finals, still in contract and presumably paid well enough.
What's the driver here? Is there best 22 pressure from underneath at the Swans?
Thats what a renowned Collingwood supporter would say, Mr Spackler.
Maybe he wants to live back home in Adelaide?I have to wonder what Haywards motivation is for leaving the Swans (if indeed this has any validity).

Makes more sense to me too.I’d rather give Gollant a full year in AFL and try get Hayward next year for free

Gollant isn't going to succeed at AFL level, until he softens his handsI’d rather give Gollant a full year in AFL and try get Hayward next year for free

He's already done pretty well at AFL level with limited exposure...Gollant isn't going to succeed at AFL level, until he softens his hands
I'll stick by my assessment .....a tall forward with hard hands isn't going to last longHe's already done pretty well at AFL level with limited exposure...
I'm not seeing a midfield move TBH. I watched a lot of Swans footy when I lived in NSW, and Hayward looks every bit the career HFF.Maybe he wants to live back home in Adelaide?
Maybe he doesn't want to spend his entire career stuck on a HFF and can see he won't play midfield in Sydney. Maybe there is an opportunity at Crows to do that?
Great - he can take the majority of that role and Pedlar, Rankine and Rachele get to be in the midfield more..That works perfectlyI'm not seeing a midfield move TBH. I watched a lot of Swans footy when I lived in NSW, and Hayward looks every bit the career HFF.
About the only thing that makes sense. Feels like a weird list management pivot though.Dollars? We missed out on Day.
The reality is its likely end of next Sloane, Tex and Smith contracts will come of the books.About the only thing that makes sense. Feels like a weird list management pivot though.
Maybe we literally need to spend some salary cap $$ this offseason
If the draft next year is so full if gun mids..We can’t get a top midfielder if none are available, that’s the issue. You can’t win a flag without one and I they say next year is full of quality midfielders. I don’t think Welsh will be too 5, think closer to 10, plus he hasn’t been able to stay on the park long enough.
Typical Adelaide, wrong draft for needs.
Most gun midfielder play in the first year and will

Yeah, there is most definately going to be some serious sheckles available soon. The reality is its likely end of next Sloane, Tex and Smith contracts will come of the books.
Will be cap room you'd think to make a major play for a free agent mid like McCluggage.
Doesn't look possible this year and instead bringing in Petty, Hayward and Chol (whilst losing Doedee, Himmelburg, McAdam and maybe Sholl).
And possibly a top midfield prospect at the draft?
