Speculation? Where do we sign.9 + 2 seconds plus Chols salary for 4, Chol and Burgess?
Assuming we have someone earmarked at 4(6).
Is there actually a "Franchise" player at #4 ...worth selling the farm for ?9 + 2 seconds plus Chols salary for 4, Chol and Burgess?

I don't expect reid to do anything. and I fuily expect to go to the draft with pick 9 and not get any of the mids we want.9 + 2 seconds plus Chols salary for 4, Chol and Burgess?

Is it the farm though? 9 gets us nothing, we still have two seconds to play with, we get two decent depth players and a shot at a decent player at 4.Is there actually a "Franchise" player at #4 ...worth selling the farm for ?
Please dear baby Jesus make it so.If Oliver is on the move and he wasn’t happy with the Melbourne high performance department, could Burgess have any pull?
Yes, spitballing. Just interesting to me that Burgess nominates us under contract, and Chols salary is up for grabs. I know we have something on the table with them that didn't include 9, maybe this is the push?Speculation? Where do we sign.
I get all the reasons people put forward ( but I am in your mindset) but by nominating us , as a 1 year upgrade - are we still going to offer a 3 year contract? Is he though?
He's 28 in a month's time and can't get a game at Gold Coast, I'm not sure he's an upgrade.
If this was a delisted player who we get a free hit at as a rookie then I wouldn't mind, but our list spots are at a premium. My concern is that we look like moving on Borlase because we don't have room on our list, but then we're bringing in this guy.
It also doesn't leave much room for other trades so I suspect that moving on Burgess means that we're out of the race for Chol.
Selling the farm..we are likely ending up with 4 x 2nds from mcadam and doedee +20 and 22 that we have. 9 + 20 + mcadam pick for 4, chol and burgess ain't selling the farm to get into the top tier of kids in this draftIs there actually a "Franchise" player at #4 ...worth selling the farm for ?
Outside of GCS ....which Club is looking to move back in the Draft Order ?Is it the farm though? 9 gets us nothing, we still have two seconds to play with, we get two decent depth players and a shot at a decent player at 4.
Logical only to you, I watch plenty of both VFL and SANFL, the difference in the quality is chalk and cheese. The restrictions by the SANFL are irrelevant .....just look at the score differentials in VFL matches this year ...some hugely lopsided games
Same issue as the Crows ....having to play every player on the list ...if you have 5 Rucks on your list, the VFL plays them all .....now multiply that by all the AFL stand-alone clubs & add the northern clubs, that have always been weaker leagues pre-VFL expansion
It's all pretty logical, when you break it down
I don't think there's anyone on the hunt for points as much as GCSOutside of GCS ....which Club is looking to move back in the Draft Order ?
WB have Croft who is on the cusp of top 10. But they may look to upgrade this chasing GCS pick 4 also to beat a bid.Outside of GCS ....which Club is looking to move back in the Draft Order ?
Those picks aren't going to get #4 ......realisticaly, #9 drifts to #12 .....#20 to #25, after Academy & Gift PicksSelling the farm..we are likely ending up with 4 x 2nds from mcadam and doedee +20 and 22 that we have. 9 + 20 + mcadam pick for 4, chol and burgess ain't selling the farm to get into the top tier of kids in this draft

With Croft, WB trying to beat the bid, makes sense .....GEEL are looking to move up the order, not downWB have Croft who is on the cusp of top 10. But they may look to upgrade this chasing GCS pick 4 also to beat a bid.
Apparently Geelong may be also.
Why would GEEL want to move down the order ?Geelong
GC could then split pick 9 for a future pick and another 2nd for points so it could be an excellent deal if they also lose burgess and chol's salary in the processThose picks aren't going to get #4 ......realisticaly, #9 drifts to #12 .....#20 to #25, after Academy & Gift Picks
That decent player have a name?Is it the farm though? 9 gets us nothing, we still have two seconds to play with, we get two decent depth players and a shot at a decent player at 4.
You watching footy, doesn't change anything ......the numbers do the talkingLogical only to you, I watch plenty of both VFL and SANFL, the difference in the quality is chalk and cheese.
You now need to clarify your BurgessesIf Oliver is on the move and he wasn’t happy with the Melbourne high performance department, could Burgess have any pull?
Dogs if they dont get pick 4 you’d think..Outside of GCS ....which Club is looking to move back in the Draft Order ?
DuurmckercktsonersThat decent player have a name?
Other Clubs have more weapons to bring to the battle for pick 4 .....you're asking GC to do the work, to convert #9 to a future 1st round pick....their response to that approach is LOLGC could then split pick 9 for a future pick and another 2nd for points so it could be an excellent deal if they also lose burgess and chol's salary in the process
