Played 152 games of AFL football and is a bust?
You blokes are off your heads.

Every player that is not a champion must be a bust then. Hilarious.

He's a fail because he cost a top 3 pick and has never been a consistent high level player. If he'd been a pick 45 he's probably a win but he wasn't. We are trying to give him away offering to pay his wage and he has no takers. We had him look around when he reached FA and no-one wanted him. To me that's a bust.

Gee whiz mate.

My first post went through every trade and draft period that SOS was at Carlton for. I don’t rate him, could be a ripping bloke.

Carlton had just finished 18th when they gambled a future 1st to get pick 19, utterly bizarre stuff and cowboy list management.

Keep going.
No, this has run it's course, you seem a bit emotional and upset.
I don't care what your other posts were ( which I saw was picked apart by another poster), just you attacking two Saints players to prove some point about SOS and how bad he is (which has been done to death, for us he has got that terrible bust Stocker, and a worst than bust because he couldn't even get selected Caminiti).

Worryingly he is getting another Carlton play which looks like a pattern.

I will hold my ignorant cynicism until he actually ***** up a trade or draft. What ever happened to giving a bloke a go before completely tearing him to shreds?

So the word fail and bust are interchangeable now? He isn't a bust as Punter pointed out.
But you are correct definitely a fail for a no.3.

Okay he's a bust as a number three pick then. He hasn't worked out what ever he is.

appreciate we are in the throws of waiting to burn AFL house down over where the compo pick ends up, but has there been any more news on skunk? I read somewhere that there were serious concerns of if he'd play again. appears a distinct lack of talk around a replacement for him which is obviously best case scenario. Anyone in the know have any further info (not at all looking for gossip - and appreciate his recovery takes priority - just wondering if its something that is being discussed / considered or still too early to tell).

I am really glad it has finally been acknowledged that Fremantle is the only AFL club that builds up their players, helps them with injuries and puts work into them.

These guys are so far ahead of the curve when it comes to management of footballers that the rest of the competition should be embarrassed.

Obviously it will have to be pick 12 and the Gres compo for Liam now.

Seriously though, there is something seriously wrong with their culture. Everytime I hear someone from that club they are sounding like victims, they talk about 'the East' like some little provincial hayseed with the stereotypical inferiority complex. They need to get their small man syndrome out of their culture.

I never get that same feeling from WCE.

You seem like a campaigner.

I suppose it just semantics. Whichever way we look at it, every Saints supporter will agree Billings has been a disappointment for the no he went in the draft.

Also relative to the pick 3 is JB a bust convo.

history of Pick 3's for relativity.
2013 - JB
2014 - Angus Brayshaw
2015 - Callum Mills (Academy) Pick 4 Clayton Oliver
2016 - Hugh McCluggage
2017 - Paddy Dow
2018 - Izak Rankin
2019 - Luke Jackson

From that list it would be hard pressed to argue that JB and Paddy Dow haven't had the smallest impact on their team and league. Does that make them a bust? depends on your definition I guess - but I think it would be hard to argue that JB has had the same relative impact as any of the others.

As far as a Pick 3 goes, he’s about middle of the pack.

Some guns. Some dross. He’s neither.

Please just announce Gresham already and save us from beating the dead horse that is Pick 3: Jack Billings

I notice you left out…

Colin Sylvia
Chris Masten
Jared Brennan
Lachie Hansen
Xavier Ellis
Stephen Hill
Dom Tyson
Sam Day,
and Lachie Plowman

Didn’t suit the narrative?

not at all Barrels - you might note that I chose to focus on the relativity of players still in the league over the period JB has played. Probably much the same as how i wouldnt compare a 2013 model car to a 2003 model such is sylvia.

interesting to note that eliis and masten are all premiership players. you reckon they were less of a player than pea heart JB?

Comfortably, or at the very least, statistically equivalent (Masten).

And you betray your bias with the last line.
