Nah, he will replace Dawson, Borlase will take Murray or Butts' spot (hopefully one of them is ok for next week). Wouldn't surprise me to see Himmelberg switched back with Tex returning if both Murray and Butts miss.
Murray no damage. Might be okay.

Butts Lisfranc

Butts Lisfranc
Lisfranc no good - probably the end of his season but it should not delay him from starting preseason with the team. Murray is one lucky fella and thank god it was not another ACL. He is way too important for us next year to have lost him again.

Curtin with the equal most clearances for us with 5 (effective ones too), kicked two goals from hard running and 20 disposals. He was the emergency midfielder this week and the most similar player to him at AFL level is out with concussion, easiest change that will be made this year.

Yeah, pretty solid effort. Lost a bit of control in the second quarter, but other then that, we seemed to absorb Norths blows well.

Toby Murray did his Thilthorpe impression with three goals in difficult conditions including an mark of the year candidate.

Ryan is just a really neat player. Time for a debut.

I had a lot of time for Curtins game. Picked up a few clearances, though I wouldn't say any of them were quality, however he was electric in his link play. Also has a few games now where he's picked up multiple goals which bodes very well moving forward. I think the big thing with Curtin is he has a good feel for the game and just knows how to float into dangerous positions.

Edwards showed some signs and for the most part, was clean with the ball in hand. Good turn of pace as well.

Ned and Schoenberg really led the engine room well.

Jones had a quiet first half, but came alive in the second. Not a big stats game, but ultimately, did his job well.

Welsh had some nice moments and ended up with 2.2. Kid looks rather promising.

Watching the game, he seemed to be involved in fits and spurts but the end his stats were good and yep, 2 good goals there. Just get him in the main side where the ovals are nothing as bad as the one they played on today so he gets to further use his sublime kicking skills

Really? Other than one rushed kick, thought they were effective clearances. In any case, he's never going to be the prime clearance midfielder, we need him as the guy streaming out of the clearance after someone like Berry or Taylor has extracted the ball out. Dawson is very similar in this regard.

Very solid game from him. May not debut this year but with a big preseason, should be pushing for a debut next season.

He spends a good 5-7 minutes each quarter on the bench, otherwise was fairly involved for most of the game. Was important in setting up our lead in the first half and then helped us ice the game in the 4th as the North players got tired and his gut running was rewarded.

****, Lisfranc can really impact a players next season too (Jones has been a prime example this year). Such a shame as he was hitting good form.
If they put him on ice now and do the surgery / recovery, he would have had 3 + months under his belt before preseason starts. Hopefully that is a good block of time to rehab the injury under the noses of the specialists

Yeah, I wasn't super impressed with that aspect. There was the blind snap forward, the rushed kick you mentioned (half tackled) and the rest weren't particularly damaging clearances.

I'm happy he's winning them, as if you are going to be a prime midfielder, you need to be winning lots of clearances. It's not easy carrying a guy who only wins 7-8% of attendances. However, this week, they weren't particularly damaging and with Curtin, I think there should be a fair expectation there will be some damaging clearances.

The best move Toby could make is to move into the ruck, imho. I dunno how good he'll be there, but with Thilthorpe, Fogarty and (soon to be) Welsh, I don't know if he'll ever get past depth as a key forward/ruck.

Great last quarter by Curtin, play him against the Hawks.

Ryan continues to impress, must be getting close.

McHenry was good except for that handball, set up a lot of scoring.

Schoenberg and Jones were good after half time.

Borlase will come in against the Hawks and do his job.

Gollant and Burgess were solid but no room for them with Thilthorpe back

FFS mchenry, a simple handpass and you missed by 6 ft. Cos you were trying to do no look. Just keep it simple
To be fair, looking hasn't been working
