Gulden was never leaving Sydney
Is a former academy kid
I get he was from their academy, but you'd think everyone has their price. I wonder what Sydney have offered. If its vastly less and much less years, it will be a hard one to swallow (from the perspective that we might be seen as the ugly duckling for players not from SA with no prior junior support for us - ie Rankine and Dawson)

We are an embarrassment.
Achieved nothing in almost 30 years.
The club sells out to the corporates and doesn't give a s**t about performance.
Players don’t care much either. In fact, ask most AFL players they’ll tell you something supporters would have trouble stomaching: they don’t care about winning as much as we do. It’s a job to them.

Players back in the day; a different story. They had full time jobs and played for the true love of the game.

Players today are more into the pay check and notoriety than winning a flag. For me, it takes the shine off the game.

Totally agree coupled with the competition being completely compromised, inconsistent and corrupt. The game is in the worst shape it's ever been in.

Thank you captain obvious

People engaged in professional career are motivated by terms of their contract?

In other news architects guild announce their members will no longer produce attic extension plans for free

I see some people wanting to offer LDU a huge deal. I make a point of not watching North outside of keeping an eye on Sheezel and Wardlaw so don’t know his strengths or weaknesses. Is he even that good or just better than the dross we have?

Honestly I don't quite get the obsession with LDU.

Decent player for sure, but he's not a million dollar player.

He turns 25 this year, never even made the AA squad of 40 and is injury prone.

Why not set our sights on a tier above?

If we are to be bold we should be offering the big deals to those who have not yet peaked. There's no point waiting till they are "proven" as the cost and competition are too great.

We should absolutely be offering the Pou a big contract.and players like Mac Andrew.

Show that we believe in them when other clubs still doubt them. This is the best way for us to get talent into the side at a reasonable cost

And if our projection is wrong, and they don’t take the next step?

High risk / high reward isn’t just about reward

I'd accept that, do your research and roll the dice.

We'd be paying slightly less than if we tried to lure them when they are "proven" and wed actually stand a chance of getting them.

Instead we'll continually miss out and have the mediocre list we have now.
