Interesting.

You do realize that Rd 22 - we had Murphy, Jones, Bond, Borlase, Taylor, Dowling and Berry in our best 22.

Aint no way Peatling starts behind any of those players.

Easily a walk up best 18 player for us.
Jones wasn't in our Rd 22 team, and only played 2 games after R14. He's not best 22.

Borlase was only playing due to Butts' injury. He too is not best 22.

Presumably ANB & Cumming will replace 2 of those players as well. Peatling probably starts ahead of the 1st/2nd year players, but it's no sure thing.

Why have they lost Port's F1?

Port are just putting Atkins in for a year as cheap depth.
Based on Ralph's report they haven't. If true, that is a disgusting deal for Port. You'd assume they had to extend Atkins beyond the one year if they were gonna get him to move states.

Still a good deal IMO. Perennial top 4 side giving away a future first rounder - no big deal.
It's fine but Port supporters wanted two firsts for Houston and not to pay a first for Luko

It's terrible. Remember North were offering their F1. If Port were ruthless, they'd tell Houston you're contracted but we've listened to your request and you can move to North if you're desperate to go home.

They've instead caved to a deal far worse than that and unders for Houston. They've gone from North's F1 to pick 13, 29, Richards and Atkins because they're holding no autonomy over their contracted player.

But they are idiots. Davies was on the radio the other day and he doesn’t know where these 2 firsts as a condition have come from.
I agree it was stupid. Houston is worth one first and so is Lukosius if you're giving him a six year deal

Apologies - I meant Rd 24. I am old enough to remember a standard 22 game season.

Trust you to focus on the insignificant finer points rather than the broader point.

In Rd 24 we trotted out 7 very average footballers. Peatling massively ahead of em all.

Meanwhile, watch Houston off half back with the Daicos boys light it up at the G for 17 home games next year

You’re high if you don’t think Peatling is a sure thing for round 1

Rankine was injured, ANB and Cumming are both in our best 18 so there's 3 spots from Round 22 who would be in front of those players you've listed and also Peatling. I would have Taylor and Dowling so also Peatling (all best 22) ahead of Laird and ROB but we know that's not going to happen.

Houston for 13, 29 and Richards is a fair deal, not many 27yos would command a first and second in this draft

Luko for their own F1 is fair, too

I guess then they just want Rat for shits and giggles

So Port get a first and a second in a strong draft for Houston, trade wise it’s a good deal but I’d have Houston over Luko so doesn’t help them as much next year unless Luko pulls his finger out

If you consider Port's F1 and pick #13 as being a straight swap, then the rest of it is:
IN: Luko, Rat, Richards, and 29
OUT: Houston

Other than the fact that Luko & Rat should be the stars of their own Fabio commercials, it's a reasonably fair deal.
Ports F1 and pick 13 aren’t equal so you can’t consider is that way
