Surely Port don’t give up nothing if they’re taking a Ratkins salary dump with Luko? You’d think a F2 would be headed to GC at least?

It sounds unbalanced.

Gold Coast give up Luko and 13, get a future 1st, Noble and get rid of Atkins.

So effectively trading Luko for Noble

Sounds like Port will trade Houston and get Lukosius, Richards and a first and second round pick. Plus of course Atkins
Anyone still say that they are not creative to try to get what they want?

So Houston likely gets pick 13 in this draft, a 2nd rounder in this draft, Richards, Atkins and lukosius. They preserve their F1? so it means if they wheeled and dealed a bit more with the 2nd rounders they have to move up a bit further, they 'might' end up with a Travaglia, Dodson, Lukosius, Richards and Atkins for Houston and a 2nd rounder.

Even if we assume the Rat is a salary dump, how many more of those can Port take. That's Luko, Esava and Rat on more money than they should be. Shouldn't they be throwing crazy money at Bergman and Butters over these types?
Why are we assuming Ratkins is a salary dump?

He only has a year left on his deal, and it was $400k per year. That's very little now.

Port probably see him as cheap depth.

Port still giving up F1, if you believe Ralphy

That's more balanced but means Port get a first and second for Houston not the two firsts they wanted.

Gold Coast give up Luko for a future 1st and Noble, then swap 13 for a future 1st.

Collingwood get Houston for a future 1st and Noble, Richards

Because it's otherwise illogical on Gold Coast's part to lose Port's F1 in favour of getting rid of Atkins. One team has made a disastrous call, it's just a matter of whether it's Port or Gold Coast.

Best 22 right now and potential to be best 18 end of the year.

Interesting.

You do realize that Rd 22 - we had Murphy, Jones, Bond, Borlase, Taylor, Dowling and Berry in our best 22.

Aint no way Peatling starts behind any of those players.

Easily a walk up best 18 player for us.

I suspect it's more about Gold Coast wanting to free up a position on their senior list, noting they have a significant "list crunch" this year.

Gold Coast's list concessions expire this year. Primarily this results in a massive drop in the size of their rookie list, but they want to move several of these to the senior list - hence having list stresses on both lists. Getting rid of Rat helps reduce that pressure.

And throw in a new Milera .
Did we invent a time machine? Milera is cooked. Will never see his best again.

If the deal is as suggested - they get a first, 2nd and Luko for Houston. Thats a great deal for them IMO.
