McHenry?
Jones?
Galluci?
McCasey?
Pedlar?

He's reached on a few mate
Rubbish, all went within a handfull of picks where they were expected to go, you obviously don't know what the word reach means in a draft sense.

I have spent days and nights on here in this thread and I admit defeat. I'm still searching for the holy grail...a rumour. Everything but in here for the last few pages. Actually thinking about it, it's likle a saga. Jokes, good and bad, defending telling said jokes. PC at it's finest, politics, the beat goes on as the old song says.
Alas the rumour seems to be now defunct.

REEF MCINNES

POS: Midfielder/utility
Ht 193cm, Wt 86kg, DOB 12/12/02
From Oakleigh Chargers/Vic Metro

The appeal in McInnes is what he can become. McInnes has played stints as a third tall forward or defender, but clubs also see him as an inside midfielder in the future, with his size, height, and sharp instincts holding him in good stead after he played in Oakleigh's NAB League premiership last year. He was also a star in the speed test at the NAB AFL Draft Combine, running the 20-metre sprint in 2.78 seconds. The Crows are after a midfielder with their second pick and are keen on McInnes, the Collingwood Next Generation Academy prospect. If a bid comes here the Magpies may not match.

If not him? Others in this range for the Crows are Finlay Macrae, who is strongly in their thoughts, as well as local midfielder Luke Pedlar and classy on-baller Tanner Bruhn. They like Brayden Cook but it may be a touch early, while they have had a close look at Connor Stone.

JYE CALDWELL

POS: Midfielder
Ht 184cm, Wt 78kg, DOB 28/9/00
From Bendigo Pioneers/Vic Country

There's been a fair bit of buzz around Caldwell in the past couple of months, despite no footy being played and the midfielder having missed a large chunk of the season anyway through injury. However, that probably just shows his quality. Caldwell is an explosive, tough, competitive midfielder who wins a nice balance of his own touches plus providing run on the outside. He'd be a nice player to get through to the Crows.

If not him? There's a few in the Crows' mix for their first pick. Ben King could be a chance to be available, while Chayce Jones, Jackson Hately and Jordan Clark are also contenders.
14PhantomDraftGee.jpg

CHAYCE JONES

POS: Midfielder
Ht 180cm, Wt 74kg, DOB 14/1/00
From Launceston/Tasmania/Allies

Geelong has been linked to Jones as one of their preferred options and he brings real versatility. Jones is a hardened, tough, reliable player who can be used anywhere on the ground: midfield is his go-to, but he can also be picked as a small forward or back. The Tasmanian enjoyed some good moments at the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships without starring, but he starred at the Draft Combine later in the year and clubs like his no-fuss, professional approach.

If not him? Others who are in the Cats' range are Riley Collier-Dawkins, who the Cats spoke to this week, Jordan Clark and Jackson Hately.
19PhantomDraftAdel.jpg

NED McHENRY

POS: Midfielder/small forward
Ht 178cm, Wt 71kg, DOB 13/7/00
From Geelong Falcons/Vic Country

McHenry is a bundle of energy and enthusiasm and plays his footy in the same spirit, always in the thick of the action and involved in the game. He will probably be picked as a small forward to start, where his tackling pressure and intensity comes through, but he has the tank and ability to play in the midfield and show his wares there. McHenry is tenacious and tough but will be a fan favourite. He's also a favourite of the Crows.

If not him? The Crows are another club who could look at Xavier Duursma if he's still available here, and maybe Curtis Taylor comes into their thinking at this stage. They could also place a bid on GWS Academy ruckman Kieren Briggs at this stage.

15_adel_2016.jpg

JORDAN GALLUCCI
3/5/98, 183cm, 75kg
Eastern Ranges

Gallucci's special athletic traits were on show at the Combine, when he broke the all-time standing vertical jump record and blitzed the field in the repeat sprints test. His ability to break out of a stoppage and zip away is rare, and he can kick long goals on the run. Gallucci may start across half-forward but he can also be placed as an attacking half-back with his run and drive. The former volleyballer is a professional and determined teenager who has been preparing for his shot for a while.

Tomorrow's heroes: Jordan Gallucci

If not him?
The Crows would look very closely at Jarrod Berry if he got through, as well as Will Hayward. Speedy half-back Cedric Cox has been linked with them while Oli Florent, should he still be available, could be considered. They have been linked to placing a bid on GWS academy player Isaac Cumming.

If not him? Hayden Young will be strongly considered, as will Lachie Ash if he's available. Both of the half-backs are high on the minds of the Swans. Dylan Stephens' midfield prowess makes him also one of the leading contenders here.

FISCHER McASEY

FISCHER McASEY

POS: Defender
Ht 197cm, Wt 91kg, DOB 8/3/01
From Sandringham Dragons/Vic Metro

Adelaide has put plenty of time into McAsey across the season, and could land him with its first pick. The Crows moved back from pick No.4 to No.6 in a deal with the Giants confident a player they liked would be available, and McAsey was never going to be off the board by No.6, despite some interest from the Swans. The Crows don't have much youth in their key-position ranks so McAsey shapes as a long-term player if they swoop. The strong-marking key back has also been used in attack at times, with his versatility and game sense a strength.

If not him? Local option Dylan Stephens is right in the Crows' mix and would also bring something new to their midfield unit. Half-backs Hayden Young and Lachie Ash have also been linked to the club, while Sam Flanders will be considered if on the board.

The only thing this doesn’t take into account is the other teams that would’ve been interested in those players

But by no means were any of them out-of-nowhere reaches like Doedee. Hell, the Hamish special picks like Hamill and Oscar Ryan were closer to Doedee-type picks

Jones wasnt a reach as such, nor was Gallucci really. Both guys were taken around about where pundits had them. Jones PERHAPS a bit high, but not drastically so.

There was talk of GWS having a stab at Pedlar too, not sure how realistic that was.

Twomey’s phantom draft isn’t draft rankings/recruiters consensus though, he’s just collating information he’s been given about who clubs are interested in. Like claiming Pedlar wasn’t a reach is just a lie
Yep, no one really knew much about him. Played school footy in between injuries.

It's common knowledge Geelong had big interest in Chayce Jones and that GWS had big interest in Pedlar, Richmond were also linked to Ned McHenry.

Only player even close to a reach was Fischer McAsey and everyone knows what the thinking was with that pick (Talia) and when we did trade down 2 spots we got GWS's 1st rounder for the following draft (Pedlar).

No it's not, we knew GWS were going to take him if we didn't.

The logjam of clubs from pick 10 to 15 are all interested in the same group of players, with Cook, Henry, Luke Pedlar and the group of talls all linked to that part of the draft. The Crows have recently interviewed Reef McInnes and showed their intent to bid on the Collingwood Next Generation Academy prospect, with the Pies and Crows also a chance to swap selections within the first round.

Richmond didn’t have a pick before the pick we traded to Carlton in the Ned draft, to be fair

At least we seem to have learned since the McAsey selection to always draft for talent in the top picks, then basing your trade strategy around that

The Crows are impossible to get a read on this far out from the draft, anyone claiming to have intel isn't lying, but their source could definitely be feeding them some furphies. One of the hardest clubs to get a read on for the draft, except for the public comments that it will be a mid.

It's very unlikely there is any club in that top 10 who doesn't have Lalor, Draper, FOS, Langford and Smith in their top 5-7, it's just the order which is impossible to get a definitive read on yet.

He reached. Pure and simple.

They were all awful picks.

Rumours likely abound in the trading period of at end of season when players are being delisted etc. off season - and Particularly between trade and ND, there’s just nothing of any consequence happening.

What was sanders banned for ? Is he still banned?

Banned for keeping it real and holding idiotic posts to account. There's a couple of very sensitive posters that regularly dish it out but hit report as soon as a mild return of serve is provided. Mods have a handful of delicate posters that they protect.
