I’ve thought of making a recommended ignore list.

I didn’t report Sanders as I’ve had him on ignore for ages. So makes no difference to me if he’s banned or not 😝

Could we be extending FOG and Rankine to create cap space to delist a contracted player?

No. Extending them shuffles our cap space in 2025 and beyond. Paying out a contracted player requires room in the 2024 salary cap, which has already been spent.

What it may do is free up more space in the 2026 cap, for hunting Free Agents again next year.

Bloody good player though

Feel like a bit under appreciated on this board
So who are you backing to be the best player in this draft?

I'm clearly backing Lalor on the basis I see him as one of the very few in this draft that can break a game wide open with his acceleration, aerial prowess, power, strength, impact per possession and penetrating kick whether playing midfield or forward

Lalor
Smith
Travaglia

Prob my sure things

But it’s all pretty even for me with those + FOS , Draper , Langford

Of course ones attached eg Lombard and Ashcroft

Then Lindsay

Tauru and Hannaford great end of seasons and could be 2 rippers as well

Also like Joe Berry , Shanahan , Armstrong

Sam Marshall is another ripper , it just keeps going and going this draft

Lombard’s still my number one, just think he’s basically the most well-rounded sure thing in this draft. Smith not far behind him, then Draper not far after Smith

Lalor is in that top group too obviously, but a wider gap between floor/ceiling. FOS too, but maybe a bit lower floor

I’d almost put Lindsay and Travaglia in that top echelon of sure things too, but the comparative lack of exposed midfield time compared to the top guys puts them slightly below

Langford clearly the one where I’m against the grain, but I still think he has some clear AFL traits, like I’ve said today I think wing could be his position

Think if you’re a team that has a top 25 pick in this draft, you should be ecstatic. That 7-25 ish range is the best we’ve seen in years

If a post falls on the forum, but noone is there to read it...

Banned for keeping it real and holding idiotic posts to account. There's a couple of very sensitive posters that regularly dish it out but hit report as soon as a mild return of serve is provided. Mods have a handful of delicate posters that they protect.
I thought it was because he was an argumentative dick who we were all thoroughly sick of.

Wow - strange definition of keeping it real

Smart ass keyboard warrior who uses social platforms to make it uninviting for others - it’s not keeping it real

The sad thing is his football knowledge was very good - however he went out of his way to find a way to upset others

I personally don’t enjoy this board when people show little respect for others

Jack Carroll delsted, now there's a player I could definitely find a list spot for...

As much as it grieves me I dont think we can fault the McAsey pick in isolation

The club had decided Talia was done or near done and wanted his replacement

Talia played 14 games in 2020 and was done - right or wrong

McAsey played 10 games in 2020 - ironically the last senior games he played for us

Should more due diligence have been done - sure - but I think the pick when taken in context was good thinking. Could we have waited for someone else? Yeah in hindsight sure , but his formline was sound

sorry, but i think that's a little bit of a copout.

I think it was one worst picks ever.

Olgilvie pretends not to care about needs at the pointy end of the draft, so he can't use that as an excuse.

It's not like he was a bad player in his U18 year though, he was an AA and state MVP who just happened to be in a position of dire need at the time.

Came to the club at the worst possible time for anyone remotely homesick, and family issues compounded that.

A bust no doubt, but no one could've foreseen just how bad it got.

You think that was solely Hamish's decision?

I don't.

I'd be almost positive there was a fair bit of list management strategy involved in trading down once the big hearted AFL intervened and made it certain Noah Anderson wasn't going to get to us because it was well known a long way out that the Demons were taking Luke Jackson.

Never go a KPP..... unless their name is Riley Thilthorpe ??

I dont think you can say Jones wasnt stuffed around by coaching either, he absolutely was.
Godden was Jones's midfield coach and absolutely rogered him. Took every bit of natural flair the kid had and disposed of it. Jones will forever be one of Godden's worst coaching mistakes. I hate the ****er, how is is still coaching at AFL level is beyond me.
