The Saints split their pick 27 into two picks on Tuesday – for picks 32 and 45 – giving them more of a hand to potentially put a selection to the Dogs for Macrae, however no pick has been tabled as yet.
Good time we played Geelongs game every year they target a player get them to commit then offer unders and claim they can’t do anything else because that is the lowest pick they have and the media just jumps in behind - doing it this year with Bailey Smith and tried it with Oliver. Then just wait for the other club to fold.

Every pick between 27 and 32 will be used on academey/Father son selections so we essentially move down the order one spot for pick pick 45

It also give us more currency to trade for Macrae.
I don’t think that will actually happen on the night all those 20 and 30 something picks will be live traded out to later picks they are just holding them now because of the rule on having the same number of open list spots as draft picks. Once the starters gun goes on draft night they can shuffle them back and they will have plenty of takers

I think 32 is for Macrae

Surely the Kemp play is just another Silvagni vendetta against Carlton to screw up their salary cap now that he’s already pushed up Weiterings salary 😂
Kemp is contracted to the end of next year ... so it could be just another sexy wave in his direction to catch his eye ... just like we have done with LDU / Brayshaw / Merrett and the rest of the AFL

Hey everyone ... check out our shiny box

Please can someone take the forward line off Harvey. Our set up this year was deplorable.

I would be putting Enright there personally with Rivers taking over the backs. Enright must be on a succession path for Ross in a couple of years time - especially with the Cats likely sniffing around post Scott.

Would be nice to have some stability and smoother coaching transitions rather than the abrupt sackings and overhauls we are famous for.

Line coaching is not really about teaching them craft, it's about communicating a plan that the players can implement and making sure it is adhered to. Harves has been a successful assistant at good clubs.

The last part of the year our game plan stacked up despite not having a full list to choose from. So much of our issues stemmed from lack of available players this season.

Chuck them ... 45 or 47

We need to use 32 for another draftee

Barnes on Kayo Trade Day,said Richmond will look to trade 2 or 3 of their incoming Picks with futures to even things out over next two drafts

So Rioli and some loose change for 6 and 23 and is the rumour, and you would think at least 1 of Fremantle's pick 10 or 11 and some change for Bolton will happen. Supposedly Richmond want 11 AND 18, who knows with this trade period.

Richmond end up with ~1, 6, 11, 14, 20, 23, 24, 30 and some late picks.

Our 2025 first round pick for pick 11 would be pretty juicy. 7, 8, 11, 32, 47 (45 traded for Rock Lobster).

Don't know. For my part I am sceptical about the importance of line coaches in setting strategy. The sport has moved a hundred miles away from there being three fragmented siloes on the ground which can be delegated to three different tacticians. I assume that Ross sets the whole of ground strategy, in consultation with the other coaches, and then line coaches are responsible for the day to day coaching of particular players, but consistently with the overarching strategy. For that reason, pinning blame on Harvey for the forward entries seems very naive to me.

Returning then to your question, I like the Bolton appointment because he comes from some very successful clubs, will have valuable intel about other teams and players, and seems like a good likeable personality to boot. It's very important for coaching panels to get this sort of regular cross-fertilisation from other clubs, which has not happened for us for two years.

Damn, just wrote exactly the same thing. You said what I meant more eloquently.

So if we swapped our second rounder for a second and third from Brisbane, then we're about to trade for someone at a club that needs points to bid.

So is that Kemp or Kennedy (or both)?
**** Kemp, Not a position of need, and not that good. Kennedy could be a lower cost version of McRae.

That would interest me.

Gold coast get to re-fill their never ending pile of first-round picks. We had to scrap and manipulate deals to get a second first rounder lol.

Gave up a lot to get them and probably pretty ordinary picks.

That'd be nice but it seems unlikely when you see the offers for 13 and 14 already

A future first and second.

In that deal we are getting 14 for a future first and still managing to move up from 8 to 6.
I’d give them an F1+ F2 for that deal if they gave us an F3 back
