People are laughing, but it does make me wonder. SOS has been a tough bastard come trade time, and maybe his reputation ha started to catch up to him? Regardless, I think we have taken a bit of conservative approach to our future hand, and haven't wanted to reduce our first round presence (i.e., use a F1 to upgrade our current 7/8) which some clubs have been doing...

Not bad really, 5 pick downgrade in the 2nd round for an early 3rd rounder. A lot of those picks in the 40's and 30's will come in with bids. Hope we don't give 32 to the Dogs though.

I think that's totally legit. It preserves optionality. IMO there should always be a high bar on trading future picks out because there's so much uncertainty associated with the pick itself, the quality of the draft it's in, and what the state of the club/list will be at that time. If you let it go then you're crossing your fingers and hoping it will work out.
Good business, both those picks 33 and 45 will come in.
Might end up with something in the late 20s and mid 30s.
Or we trade pick 45 to the dogs for Macrae

32 effectively becomes 28. Go back one spot in the second round and get 45 (which also comes in) to use for Macrae, keep 47 for a slider or to match one of our academy kids. Smart move tbf
Nah it’s a good move. Our midfield is diabolical and this is an instant remedy. Frees up Steele more, bolsters the core while the kids continue to mature.

Maybe 32 for Macrae and 48 then possible bunch 45, 47 & 48 up for something earlier to a club that needs points.

I’m very happy with that swap, very astute. But I really hope Macrae is now not 32 with that dirty contract.
