When it looks as easy as this, you have to expect Australia to post an even better score in the second innings. The ball is doing nothing and will continue to do nothing for the rest of the game if you look at the weather forecast. To get 416 in challenging overhead conditions is one thing, but against this England attack on a benign pitch then we should be good enough not to lose. Particularly when they don't have a frontline spinner.

That reminds me of when Jayasuriya was carting England through and over the off side and England put out a deep backward point.
Botham slated the move as setting a field for a short, wide long-hop and lo and behold Harmison bowled his usual half-tracker and Jayasuriya hit it straight down the fielder's throat.

I like it how without a hint of irony, Nasser says ''well done, Ian Botham'' as the catch was taken.

really? I think he's kind of hot :). I love tall lean men
I've been reflecting upon this. It's kinda depressing.
You're female.
You follow AFL.
And Cricket!!
You have a sharp soh.
I'll bet you also love to go fishing  and your old man owns a Brewery (or at least a charcoal grill Restaurant :D),
BUT
you "love tall lean men" and probably have one helluva happy partner.

I'll show myself out.

Indeed. Flat pitches allow it to succeed. If this and the Edgbaston pitch were in India then people would be calling for the ICC to rate it as 'poor' and issue a warning.

More average swing in the 1st innings than any game at Lords in the last 3 years, have you considered it's not the pitch that's the issue?
