Well I guess it would be a real turn up for Collingwood not to make the 8 - I wonder if there has been any recent examples of a premiership winning team NOT making the eight in teh following year?

hmmm I'll have to think about that - any thoughts?

Our friends atthe LitterBox were cruelled by bad bad bad luck.

True they could have another bad run late. But I guess it's more, if Carlton are the real deal they should be beating Collingwood on the big stage when they're still not their 2023 best.

Do you think Carlton will be better later in the year close to or at at full strength?

Like last week with Geelong/Carlton, both the BigFooty tipsters and the thread poll have a much higher proportion of people going with the Blues. But this time, the bookies also agree and have set Carlton as very marginal favourites. Which I think sounds about right (it was the same for the Carlton/GWS game).

I think the Blues will bounce back as they did after the Crows loss and get up in a close one. Collingwood don't have as many weapons up forward as Geelong, so will need all of their midfielders to match the Blues - a tough ask.

Collingwood playing smoke & mirrors with possible Degoey/Mitchell outs.

Blues need to show the manic defensive pressure every game, rather than wait for a close loss to react.

Shake the tree with immense pressure & like the GWS game, the fruit will fall!

Wat. No AFL club has a million fans. I want what you're smoking!
Of they do, especially Sydney.
He said fans, which are different to members.

Sydney has a population of 5mil. If they were asked who they follow in the AFL, most would only know 5 teams, so they just say Sydney.
West Coast would have half of the Perth population of 2 million.
Collingwood would have fans in every city and would easily have 1 mill fans.

Okay get that, but that's not easily as substantiated or as good of a measure as paid members.

Right now Carlton are presenting an open goal to the opposition so all Collingwood have to do is win enough contested between the arcs ball to have some shots and if Carlton kick as badly as they did against Geelong - Collingwood wont even need umpire assistance like Geelong did to get close.

Looking forward to seeing Nick Daicos put in another goat performance - maybe he could run with Walsh for a few minutes a quarter and get some tips on what a real midfielder looks like.

i reckon pies get up, blues defence in shambles. pies small forwards will be looking to have a big impact.

I'd be more worried about the Pies defence, a straight kick by the Bombers in the last few munutes the Pies would've lost again.

The Blues are too predictable

The hit-outs go to Cripps, the inside 50 passes go to Curnow

If the Pies can't work something out here then the premiership defence is over

On SM-A225F using BigFooty.com mobile app
Vossy to throw Curnow at FB, Weitering at FF and give McRae a surprised Pikachu face.

And this is why people get sucked into believing they are something they are not.

Collingwood are the reigning premiers. They only have to decide to show up and their best footy will be too much for the current media darlings.
Here's this guy death-riding us again. Are you sure you're not Fadge?

It doesn't matter if they're the reigning premiers. Why aren't they sitting 7-0 then if that mattered at all?

Didn't we just go toe to toe with your mob with half our best 22 out? Or just more trolling by yourself?
