Abbots bowling isn't a top line talent though. Reminds me a lot of James Faulkner though. Better in the limited overs format.

anyone who listens to rodney hogg and takes his ideas seriously has no idea. he is a clown, good to listen to but never makes sense.

Hanscombe no doubt is being looked at for future reference but still 12 months minimum, more like 2 years away (and thats if current form continues). Does seem to be on the right track but no rush to get him in the side.

Sucks he is injured at present though (although only missed 1 sheild and a few big bash games so doesnt miss alot)

Abbott is on the cusp of test selection because he is from NSW and has a few decent shield performances behind him.

And it would be an amazing feel good story.

Never heard his name being mentioned for the first test, never really heard his name entertained at all.
