Feeling confident.

Collingwood are just an upgraded Melbourne.

Both have gun rucks and midfields
Both have flaky defences that don't like tall forwards
Both have inconsistant forward lines
Both rely on midfield dominance and midfielders pushing forward and back to cover the weak bookends.

Is Goldsack and Langdon any better then Mcdonald and Frost?
Gundy is better then Gawn but Melbournes probably got the better midfielders overall.
Both rely on mids kicking goals to make up for the lack of targets up forward.

Richmond are better then both because they have good defence and a quality KPF with a forward line structure that supports him. Luckily we don't need to play them.

Sure Collingwood put on the ultimate pressure game on Friday night so why don't they do they every game? Cause that shit is hard. And what happens when you rely heavily on pressure to win games and then don't bring it? Look at Richmond on Friday. Collingwood have had plenty of losses like that throughout the year because they are a completely one dimensional team. They have to bring the pressure or they just plain lose because they don't have the structures or KPPs to to do anything else.

They are just Richmond lite.

You know very little about our team. We are very different to Richmond, moving the ball through possession rather than forcing it forward through pressure. We have good tackle pressure all over the ground but so do West Coast.

If West Coast win it will be because you have matched us in the midfield, Hurn and McGovern are looking after the air down back and you have controlled the ball enough to get good looks for Kennedy and Darling. Very possible.

Cox doesn't worry me as much as Sidebottom and DeGoey. I'd expect Hutch to go with Sidebottom, he was unbelievable against Richmond on Friday night. He is their gun mid that we need to shut down. Who goes with DeGoey? Can anyone match his speed and strength?

Barrass on Cox, Schofield on De Goey. Mcgovern to read the play and support as needed.

???

We are one of the worst tackling sides in the comp:

https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_team_rankings?year=2018&type=TA&sby=6

That's us 15th for average tackles.

We are not too flash at the contested stuff either. Pre game we were ranking 18th for ground ball gets and 15th for clearances.

You have a better midfield and ruck then us. Our goal is to simply break even in the midfield. If we can get the same amount of ball into our f50 as you do into yours I would back our forward line 100% to win the game for us.

If Grundy, Sidebottom, Pendlebury and Treloar dominate the middle and starve us of the ball then thats how you are going to win.

Worry we have one tall too many with the predicted wet weather, but still too early to make that decision.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Agree on Lecca, if we win he’s putting the gone fishin’ sign up permanently

I wouldn’t worry about any weather forecast more than 24 hours out.

I still remember the day I was down Bondi Beach in bright sunshine and the Bureau of Metrology had rain showing on their app/website.

I rang them up and got stuck into them.

Seriously, it is the only job in the world where you can be wrong everyday and never live in fear of losing your job.

Brad Scott and Co on footy show, still not showing Eagles enough respect, implying the advantage from a hostile home crowd helped them win, oh and credit where it's due, Eagles played well...understatement... given it was the lowest halftime score since who knows when..they still cling to this idea that playing at the MCG will be completely
different for the Eagles?
Makes you realise how much of a bubble Melbourne footy punters live in, how much they believe their own hype, Demons and Tigers a good example...
A GF win is not guaranteed, but get up to speed Melbourne! This game is the one Eagles have been waiting for,
they didn't get here by accident...

Feels like both teams are just happy to be in a Grand Final this year, after defying expectations throughout the whole season. The boys dont seem to be feeling overawed or under any pressure this time round, but there is definitely a steely resolve and quiet confidence amongst the playing group.

Accuweather saying the rain will come in the morning, hopefully that holds true. A slippery game suits Collingwood.

Don't be such a sad sack. We are in a GF
We are going to belt Collingwood by 50 points easy, walk in the park. Kennedy and Darling to kick a bag, Yeo to win the Norm Smith.
