With about 5 minutes left to go in the third darling clutched high up on his left hammy, put the hand up to the bench straight away and got off as soon as he could. The game came in his direction though which made the amount of time to get off quite significant. As soon as it happened i said oh no darling has tweaked his hammy. We'll see as we really, really need him to be 100% good to go.

He looked proppy after the match. Might just be me being a pessimist

He grabbed his hamstring with 9:54 to go in the third when Firrito played on on a point kick in and JD changed direction quickly on the attempted tackle and looked at about 80% from then on, running speed noticeably down. You'd think it was minor as he stayed on for a fair chunk of the rest of the game but if he has nicked a hammie, a 6 day rest puts him at risk of missing...

He stayed on and he also played a significant chunk of the 4th but looked proppy the whole time ...

Can't imagine it's a major hamstring given the time he played out but he looked to have a moment of real pain when it happened and he didn't "run it out" which suggests it wasn't a cramp...

The bit relevant for our game...

INCIDENTS LIKELY TO BE ASSESSED
Quinten Lynch (West Coast) for engaging in rough conduct towards Scott McMahon (West Coast)
Lynch’s record: 37.5 points left on his record. Two matches suspended in the last three years, increasing any penalty by 20 per cent.
This will be interesting. Lynch kneed McMahon in the back after arriving late in a marking contest. But he did the same thing later in the match and arrived on time. The question is: were his actions unreasonable or unnecessary in those circumstances If reported, it is likely to be called negligent because he didn’t show a duty of care. It would be medium impact and body contact. Combined with his bad record and carry over points, that would result in an offer of a one week ban. If it’s called reckless, the penalty would become two weeks.
Chris Tarrant (Collingwood) for striking Lance Franklin (Hawthorn)
Tarrant’s record: Eligible for a 25 per cent discount for a clean record
The Magpie defender attacked Franklin all night. They fought constantly in the first term and Tarrant went extremely close to crossing the line. But at no stage did he actually hurt Franklin. He threw jumper punches which were below the level of force required to constitute a reportable offence. He also threw a round arm punch which collected Franklin in the stomach, but the Hawk got straight up. The stomach punch is the biggest concern. It was intentional and to the body, so if the MRP says it was low impact, Tarrant would be offered a reprimand.

Lynch gone and Tarrant safe youd think. Doesn't bode well for us.

Karl Langdon said after the game that Water's injury was a fractured/broken toe and that he will probably be out for the season. Still a lot better than an ankle or achilles injury in the long run though I'd imagine.

He also said the issue with Darling was just a cramp and that Malthouse had signed a three year deal with Carlton to be announced on Tuesday I think it was.

Mentioned Rosa but I got the impression that the chances of him playing this week would be about 40% although likely to play against Sydney if we can get there.

Nah they'd just get the video of him taking the mark the exact same way latter on and say the ball didn't carry as far as he judged (sounds a bit like the "I'm pretty clumsy" defence hey?).

I have hope he'll get off though.

The fact he took a mark later in a similar manner would support an argument that he simply misjudged his timing when he crashed into McMahon and as such there wasn't anything in it. Not sure if it'll fly though and the problem is we only get to mount that argument at the tribunal at which stage we'd be risking a lengthier suspension as the mrp would have already made its decision

Win/win. If he gets off, he plays against Coll. If he gets more weeks, we encourage him to exercise his free agency ;)

I dont think he needs to argue his timing at all, rather he just missed the ball with his fist. He wasn't late, if he had of hit the ball it would have been a decent spoil. His argument will be based on his eyes being on the ball at all times and the fact he had already left the ground well before the mark was taken. If the umpire thought it was untoward he would have been reported on the day as it happened right in front of him. He chose to just award a free kick and it should stay at that.

Lynch will be cleared.

He wasn't late and he had eyes for the footy. It was clumsy, yeah...but not worth a suspension. His feet had already left the ground and there was nothing he could really do after that. For Mcmahon it was really Wrong place, Wrong clumsy opposition player.

anyone recall in 2007 when we played the roos at the TD and he did the exact same thing to one of their guys? was it mcmahon again?

Saw him grab his hammy in second quater i think, he then grabbed it again a bit later..
Didnt chase hard after that and his leads wernt as string as they were earlier...
I am a bit worried..

If it was anything serious he wouldn't have been back on the ground given that we won by nearly 100 points.

It would have ****ing hurt McMahon. Poor bastard
