I think Esava is still important to our forward structure, provides a good focal point but his inability to hit the scoreboard is frustrating.

He could have a 2 or 3 goal game in him, but he would need 5 or 6 shots at goal..

I think one of his best features is to take a strong contested mark around the ground, which pretty much bails us out if we're stuck in our defensive 50, good on the lead too.

Marshall is probably more of a chance to hit the scoreboard than Esava, but he is a physical non-entity and is one tickled hair follicle away from being subbed out early. Too risky.

Marshall would have more impact than Jed no doubt.
Marshall’s problem is do we risk playing him and if he gets concussed again are we going to be able to juggle the team.
I’d personally wouldn’t play him, pity the magpies season is over because I would like to see him perform in some way before bringing back in.

Interestingly, two weeks after that win port also travelled to Freo (who had everything to play for), without Houston and with Farrell out basically at half tome and beat Freo by a comparable (but greater) margin, having to reshape its defence before the game and again midway through it.

I am dearly hoping that the coaching panel remembers the wounded soldiers on the bench in the finals last year and how it didn't help the cause a lot and in this way, Marshall should be left out of the side unless all other options are unavailable.
