How courageous it was for Jonesy to play though the end of that game with a broken jaw. Wasn't confirmed until the scan on Saturday morning but the pain and lack of alignment on his back teeth made it pretty obvious.

Outstanding courage and, as was said, a breakout game for him on Friday night in terms of his return back to the AFL.

Good news about there being no need for surgery but he will be sorely missed for the next month.

Lack of alignment of his back teeth? There would have to be fairly significant fracture with displacement to derange his occlusion. It could have been the soft tissue swelling that made it appear that way.

So it seems like Burton was taken off in the third qtr on saturday knowing Jones wasnt going to be able to play Thursday night. Due to the quick turnaround you would think if we were looking at any other changes then those players would have been taken off early as well. By my recollection none of Narkle, Jonas, Fantasia were rested with 15 minis to go or anything like that (unless someone can tell me otherwise). That makes me think Burton for Jones will be the only change this week. We might look at using Narkle as the sub, so potentially Bonner might come in to the 22 and Sinn back to the Magpies.

this is probably my first time in a long time where i've gone into a geelong game purely excited and confident as opposed to pissed off negativity and "i hate geelong" type feelings. i know we've been better recently but obviously this season is different. it's about time we embarass them by being quicker, stronger and better skilled.

Burton and Narkle for Sinn and Bonner would've been the easiest selection night ever IMO.

Now, Burton and Narkle for Sinn and Jones. Not a great fan of Bonner being sub but who else is there?

Burgoyne did well on the weekend. Too soon for Orazio, the guy needs games.

I expect Jonas will come in for Jones whether we like it or not. Maybe if we're lucky going back to the SANFL will be good for him, it's been good for Lycett who looked as good as done a month or so. Burton for Sinn. Narkle as sub for Bonner.

It's good to see another team getting sucked in by his smooth moving at VFL level.

The problem is he's an inside mid or nothing. He doesn't have forward craft and if you play him on the outside his lack of gut running ability will see him blown up. He's an inside mid who doesn't defend well. He's good enough to look brilliant as a one way inside mid at the level below but it doesn't transfer well to AFL.

This should be a cracking game. Sort of the opposite of last year when you had everything to play for and we were sitting pretty up the pointy end.

I'd expect Geelong to come out breathing fire and we'll be much closer to full strength. If we get you a touch off your best we're a chance. But if we can't get the win with so much at stake it doesn't bode well for our season. In contrast it'll be a good test for Port to see how well their game stands up to finals like heat. Stand up to the pressure and that's a big tick.

Every man and his dog have been calling for Sinn to play.
I never thought he was up to it in the first place but he’s had a go and will need to improve more.
Narkle should ne the next one given a go.

Evans is consistent with his goal kicking, with another brace at the weekend.
He also played on the ball against Centrals.

If he was the sub, he might have some foreward craft intel on his former Club.

Well according to North, JHF was a downhill skier with not a defensive bone in his body…
Someimes players do better at a new club. Not always though, I agree , but Narkle was at least worth a punt.
Carr as his coach won't put up with defensive laziness and Narkle’s initial contract is only 6 months.

Appreciate the inside information, but Im really hoping him losing his spot at Geelong has lit the fire he needs to finally go to the next level. Seems he has had 2/2 great snafl games so who knows.

Keep in mind we lost Amon last year and Duursma this year with injury. There is room for him if he can get his output up to the level.

Mostly I just want to see ol sparkly given a few afl games sooner rather than later. Lets get our answers now.
