SilvagniWho would Jonas match up on?
Curnow is laughable, he'd have 5m on Jonas in an instant.
McKay is half a foot taller than Jonas.
He's too slow to play on smalls.
No good as an interceptor as he can't mark anymore and is a dump kick player.
Well Ken said he was in when he gave the post game presser.Anyone else I would think it was a tactical leak that might not be true. But coming from Burts I think it is more than likely true.
And I'll go full contra to the wisdom of the crowd and say I'm happy with Jonas coming in against Carlton.
He hasn't been bad in the seconds. What's the point of this bullshit...Jonas who has been bad in the seconds is the weakest selection in club history.
That's a loss for us. Very ordinary footballer.Matthew Kennedy out for Carlton avoids acl but will miss 6 weeks
Does show you how quickly things change in the AFL. 3 weeks ago they had gone 1-8, talk all about their lack of quality and unfair desires to sack a brand new coach. A couple easy kills and a good win and suddenly they're an elite team again.Carlton supporters are very, very confident they will beat us.
Just a few days ago, this was just like any other game to me. Now I really want to put them back in their box!

Yeah they are, I had one taunting me saying they will be 5th after this weekend. Game will be won in the centre if we starve their forwards - Game Over.Carlton supporters are very, very confident they will beat us.

He had one reasonably good game.He hasn't been bad in the seconds. What's the point of this bullshit...
Lol the sanfl missed the chance to rub out a Port player? Someone's losing their job.
You'd pick him as a sub, game breaking ability that not many others on our list of backups haveNo way you can select Fantasia in a final. The chance of him breaking down is just too high. His reward is just not worth the risk.
Should be a good game this week, BAT. Carlton has been in good form, but these days, Port loses at Marvel about as often as I meet intelligent Crows fans.
Queenstown gravel oval was what I was hoping for. Everyone is to scared to go for a big mark there! It’s an amazing footy ground!Should be a good game this week, BAT. Carlton has been in good form, but these days, Port loses at Marvel about as often as I meet intelligent Crows fans.
Hell probably go down the road of many a cooked veteran and get suspended trying to have an impact in the only way he still can.I obviously wish Jonas nothing but the best, but one would think his current personal circumstances within the club will play right into Carlton’s hands.
It’s almost a forgone conclusion that he will subconsciously revert to being too overly cautious & reactive in attempting to once more justify his inclusion & standing within the side. In fact, he will probably feel more like a first gamer than a seasoned veteran.
Great call. Ugly but true.Jonas in has all the hallmarks of being able to pinpoint where a promising season disappeared before our eyes. He's a poor match-up on any Carlton players, but no matter how badly he goes, if he's in now they've decided he's a McKenzie replacement, so in for at least the time until he's back. Even that is wishful thinking, we aren't dropping him a week or two before finals.
Would be hard for him to take a contested mark with both his fists closed.I'm not against Jonas coming back in, he's got experience, and has a man's sized body... There really was no other option. A pass mark is keeping his player to under 2 goals, minimal fumbles, a few golden fists and nothing OOTF. I'd be surprised to see the same Jonas as we did in the first half of the year after his stint in the 2s. I'd hope the #1 on his back brings some magic. If he gets at least 1 contested mark against his direct op, I'll open the champagne.
