There's a lot that McEntee does that goes under the radar, he's the one doing the grunt work so others can shine. I'd have him in before Rioli, he's a head down no frills player.
Juniors numbers stack up better than McEntee. I do agree that McEntee does a lot of work that goes under the radar, but he needs to get a bit more involved. He was doing it well leading into the bye, chipping in with a goal or two and just being more involved in general.

The feel is that he's dropped away a bit over the past few weeks.

I know it’s a risk, but I wouldn’t mind Orazio coming in for Rioli. He could either be subbed out by halftime, or kick 2 or 3 goals on a ground that really suits him. I just think we have built enough capital to roll the dice on him, & his best is still better then what ever Francis Evans offers.

Lol the sanfl missed the chance to rub out a Port player? Someone's losing their job.

I'm surprised that those SANFool bastards haven't decreed that fines for AFL listed players be based on their actual salaries, which are probably more than several of their teams' TPPs combined.

Something to that.
Fantasia breaks down it removes the temptation to play him in finals.

No way you can select Fantasia in a final. The chance of him breaking down is just too high. His reward is just not worth the risk.

Ah the old Westhoff argument. Load of rubbish. Look at SPP. There is a pressure forward. But he actually also gets the football and kicks goals.
I do however like Jed, but think he gets squeezed out when Rioli and Duursma come back into the team soon.

It is really unlikely Orazio would get picked but his 4 goals against Geelong in the 2021 Qualifying Final were spectacular. That sort of game would be worth the risk.

TJ - McKenzie
Scooter - Hayes

Not sure about Jnr. Maybe Narkle to play predominantly as a small forward, or bring in Evans.

Allir, Dixon, Marshall, Finlayson & JHF all didnt train today.

Unfortunately Burton has just said on radio that Jonas is in.

Carlton hearing that

Miguel Herrera Win GIF

Anyone else I would think it was a tactical leak that might not be true. But coming from Burts I think it is more than likely true.

And I'll go full contra to the wisdom of the crowd and say I'm happy with Jonas coming in against Carlton.

Who would Jonas match up on?

Curnow is laughable, he'd have 5m on Jonas in an instant.

McKay is half a foot taller than Jonas.

He's too slow to play on smalls.

No good as an interceptor as he can't mark anymore and is a dump kick player.
Jonas in has all the hallmarks of being able to pinpoint where a promising season disappeared before our eyes. He's a poor match-up on any Carlton players, but no matter how badly he goes, if he's in now they've decided he's a McKenzie replacement, so in for at least the time until he's back. Even that is wishful thinking, we aren't dropping him a week or two before finals.

I'm not against Jonas coming back in, he's got experience, and has a man's sized body... There really was no other option. A pass mark is keeping his player to under 2 goals, minimal fumbles, a few golden fists and nothing OOTF. I'd be surprised to see the same Jonas as we did in the first half of the year after his stint in the 2s. I'd hope the #1 on his back brings some magic. If he gets at least 1 contested mark against his direct op, I'll open the champagne.
