Many of them boundary throw ins. Something that is not commonplace in SANFL games under the last touch rules.

Which is where Hayes lack of an engine gets most exposed as it was at the end of the second quarter tonight - doubled over and out off puff unable to make the sideline contests. But you saw that as you were there- right?

As a result he required frequent resting on the bench after half time and a one legged Dixon needing to step up to take his place.
Me and 31,000 other people were there, yes. The arrogance you're exuding by constantly repeating that you were there as though this means your opinion can't be wrong even though the law of averages suggests that the vast majority of the 31,000 other people who were there disagree with you is incredible.

I genuinely have no idea what point you think you're making here.
Excellent. And I can assure you no one else gives a flying feck either.

The 'law of averages'. o_O

OK. Go away now you are boring the feck out of me.

Probably time for you to go to bed now so you can wake up, realise you were embarrassing yourself and delete all of this in the morning.

Do we risk that against a team with no recognised ruckman? My guess is no.
Pretty much. I'd still play him though.

Carlton aren't quicker or more mobile in the midfield, they are a dour Hinkleyball side. Cripps and Kennedy cant spread from the contest.

Or wake up and realise I wasted my time conversing with you.

Now THAT would really be embarrassing.

Another thing to add to the long list of 'things I did that were a waste of feckin time but I did anyway' .

I reckon it would be really dubious to bring in Jonas. He has been horrible at SANFL level as well.

I think we will just slap Burton down back full time and bring in Duursma (even though he has only been ok since returning).

The switch for Rioli might be the harder one. We might even look at Burgoyne down back and Burton resting forward. Who knows.

Our small forwards are not really working right now. Jed and DBJ not kicking goals. Our "small" goals are coming from SPP and Rozee lol. Rioli good for a few a week but if he is absent we are thin.

Agree.

Sad to think that our captain might sit on the sidelines in his final season as our team mounts a finals campaign but I think that's the reality of where he is and we are.

Got a lot of love for Jonas and his heroics over the years but his lack of pace and clumsiness is a liability as we move into fine weather finals.

I dont feel sorry for him at all. He took on the captaincy this year even though he likely knew better.

The coaches should have known better, too.

Hayes competed well and will stay until Lycett recovers. This is important finals backup, given Lycett may succumb to further injury.
The big worry is how to replace McKenzie. Almost certainly Jonas will tog up, despite indifferent SANFL form.
Evans has been very good in the 2s, and his return to replace Rioli would be unsurprising.

Some of the Sam Hayes chat is staggering, he doesn’t need to be peak Dean Cox to be our best and only option. And if you think Ollie Lord is a better ruck you are a ****ing idiot.

Tend to agree. Jonas might be the most like for like McKenzie replacement but I’d rather Bergman/Jones play on Curnow.

Jonas and his loser attitude have been a big part of our mediocrity under stinkers. If he's been shit at sanfl level too no way he should come back

You got the part that Carlton will not have a ruckman next week, yeah?

So rotating tall forwards makes sense, rather than keeping an immobile specialist tap ruckman who has no match up in the centre, yeah? But let's see what happens selection night.

Reckon you're the expert on dumb takes mate. Stop making things so personal FFS.
I sort of understand what you’re saying, it’s kind of saying that us rucking Finlayson and SPP against traditional rucks was the right decision after all.

If we didn’t play Hayes tonight, would GC have dropped Witts (not that much more mobile than Hayes from what I saw) to play a mobile ruck against Finlayson?

Actually I don’t understand what you are saying.
Unless you really mean “Delist Hayes”.

Agree, curnow relies on speed allot, something Jonas has not got. But Bergman and Jones have that in spades.

Carlton away in WA this evening, will be very tough for them to back it up on a Marvel deck we play well.

We get in to a mini tough run after this with Collingwood - Crows - Geelong (a)

Hinkley basically guaranteed Jonas will be back.

Going into the game without a recognised ruckman is just dumb. Even if you don't rate Hayes, having to play Dixon or Finlayson in the ruck robs you of a damaging forward and means you put those players at risk.

And who are you actually bring ing. Lord? Bloke is not worth going into a game without a ruckman.

They liked Visentini's sanfl game and maybe this is a reasonable game to bring him in.

I’ve said it before and I’ll continue to say it .
Ken very seldom “manages” or rests players.
I reckon Dixon will play till his leg actually snaps off.
He normally makes very few unforced changes unless one of our better players or favourites is available. I think Hayes will hold his spot until Lycett is available again.

Hinkley never manages or rests players and continually players them injured.

I'm worried that Jonas will be selected to cover McKenzie. Pity that Clurey is injured.
Duursma hasn't played well enough yet but the worse decision would be to make him emergency or sub. He needs game time.
Evans and Burgoyne have played well enough.
