Nankervis can't be too far away .....role flexible too

Of course everyone will disagree with the timing of when Nank should play .....however Worrell has commented publicly "he wasn't ready", when everyone wanted to have a peek

I still believe Nankervis will get at least a couple of games this year, to set him up for 2024
So when Worrell said he wasn’t ready, when he did he mean?

Was he ready the exact week he was picked which just happened to coincide with his selection? Was it a month before, 2 months before, year before?

Nicks didn’t pick Worrell because he preferred an injured Doedee and thought both couldn’t be played together. That’s been confirmed. Then what do you know, because Worrell came in and excelled they both played together when Doedee returned.

If anything this has vindicated the criticism of Nicks, Nicks got it wrong which was proven when Worrell performed and they played together.

Do you acknowledge this as a Nicks error or do you still believe Nicks is running at 100% decision making?

Rachele needs a good game.

Has been quiet for a while.

Whether that's related to the fewer midfield minutes, or if the fewer midfield minutes is a result of the drop off in form, I'm not sure.

Perhaps it's just the midseason grind getting to him.

For us to make any sort of run in the finals, we need Soligo and Rachele to start hitting some form.
Did you watch the game on the weekend?

Because almost every poster has said, on the weekend, Cook and Berry are not deserving of AFL games ATM

Nankervis is on the cusp though, through a body of good form

The point you overlook, which supporters don't factor in .....is selection integrity ...start playing players undeserved of a spot and every player knows what's happening..... it's cancerous within a team

Every player, in every sport, knows where they rank on a list .....and who is deserving of a game
Is it fair to say the point you overlook is that we carry players out of form? How does that rank in your sports manifest?

Selection integrity and the AFC. Not sure if you're serious or having a troll.

Brown selection, Mileras selection in the early rounds this year, Himmelberg over RT, selecting injured and clearly hampered senior players Sloane, Keays last year etc. etc.

Would anyone have an issue with "he's shown a bit but he's not setting the world on fire, lets give him a run in the seniors and see how he goes" against Norf or WC?

I think you've confused selection integrity with never dropping senior players. Is Crouch the only senior player we've dropped in two years?

Edit: I missed your last sentence, that is 100% true at the AFC. We have a list at the start of the year that is almost impossible to change - hence why we have the same 23-24 players every week.

That’s why there was some frustration about selection last week. You don’t get a better chance to rest players than against North at home. On top of that there was an injury cloud over Murray so the choice of player rested was obvious.
Percentage was their priority. Their sole focus is qualifying for finals and maximising percentage. The likelihood of giving games to inexperienced players won't happen this year unless we have injuries.

ESS have a great Midfield .....but lack big tall defenders and forwards, apart from Wright ....who hasn't kicked a goal in 2 matches

Our FWD line is going to be too potent for ESS .....the only question is; can our midfield get on top of ESS's midfield ....Keays to do a tagging job on Merrett I suspect
You just had to didnt ya Wayne…

”Wright hasnt kicked a goal in two games”

all but guarantees that he now kicks 5 against us on the weekend…

It was disappointing we didn't give Borlase a game earlier in the year when Murray had concussion.
If he played well, it could have given the coaches the confidence to give him another game this week with the Bombers talls with Butts out.
Would have been a good match up for Weidermann

Huh? Let’s not mistake Racheles poor goal kicking as poor form generally.

He was the fire starter last week after half time.

Can someone please provide AFC’s record against Essendon in Melbourne.

Regards
In short... shit house!

We always find ways to lose games against the Dons.

We are friggin overdue then.
If we cant beat Essendon, it really doesnt matter if we dont make finals, we are simply not good enough.

This is a game we must and should win. I can understand losing some games, this is a non negotiable must win game for us if we are to entertain serious finals discussion in 2023.
