The feel I had watching live last week was that Gibbs slack kicks under little pressure, short, straight to the opponent killed us more than once. An apparent good user turning over like that with bad kicks missing targets by a long way left us free to be opened up. It's not like a Kelly booting it as far as possible to a contest where players will know that a turnover is a possibility and play accordingly, it's a great ball user in the clear DGAF-ing it 15 metres to leave us cold when we've run hard forward.

I’m really concerned with the pace of the team selected. We’ve lost a wingman and an inside / outside mid and replaced them with two inside mids...

2 first rounders for Bryce Squibs, what were you guys thinking? I could’ve told you he was shit!
Ego and sentimentality trumped logic with that one. The club has a long history with Bryce. We missed out on him by a bees dick with the father son rules, tried to trade for him a bunch of times and failed and by the time the club got him it was too late in his career.

Happy Gibbs was dropped but more uninspiring changes from Don. Both not afl standard ins. No changes to our dysfunctional forward line that cant take a mark which is our whole ****ing problem. Pathetic Don. Try again next week.

Gibbs past 3 performances, disposals 16, 23 and 27. Not to mention interrupted preseason.

Tex has kicked 0,1 and 1. 2 goals in 3 games.

JJ has kicked 0,2 and 1. 3 goals in 3 games.

Mackay 19, 17 and 13 disposals and 2 goals in the 2nd game.

Lets ponder that for a minute when discussing if Gibbs had mates that deserved to be dropped ahead of him.

Gibbs needs to be the first of many senior players dropped over the next few weeks.

Otherwise this will be nothing more than a temporary bandaid. We've done this once or twice before and it's had no long term effects

I see knives are out for Gibbs just as they were out for Tex last year.

Bryce is not done as a footballer. He hasn’t had a preseason as he has been battling with groin issues. He is underdone. Not many footballers are capable of having a good season without completing a preseason. Its a very rare occurrence.

Hopefully Gibbs can get some continuity in his training and some fitness under his belt and get back into the team at some point.

Crazy how clubs spend overs for players now. Look at Beams at Collingwood. That first round pick they gave up for next year could be a gun!

Just one last comment on Gibbs before I go back to the CFC board.

He played his best football forward of centre for us, either hitting up the lead inside forward 50 or taking the game on and slotting them himself.

I reckon a better option would have been to drop a tall forward in Walker, Lynch or Jenkins and play Gibbs as a 3rd tall forward. He's exceptional above his head for his size and he'll apply more forward pressure than the other three.

I just hope Gibbs can offer Adelaide something. He was a good servant for CFC for a decade and I don't want to see him finish his career on a whimper.

The ONLY thing here is it makes us very inside heavy, particularly with Greenwood only a week or 2 away.
you can't assess the balance of the team in respect to a player who may be added. Clearly Hugh needs to do enough to force his way in now in the place of CEY or Poholke so as not to throw the balance too much.

Will CEY and Poholke get to play in the midfield?

Fair bit of talent on the outer:
- Fogarty, Gibbs, Gallucci, Greenwood, Stengle

Fair few hard worker types in the side with average talent but players you'd never question their effort or work ethic

Got all excited when I heard we had dropped a senior outside player who is in poor form.

Finally MacKay has had his annual season dropping early this year.....

Only to then find out it was Gibbs, FMD David has to have incriminating evidence of some kind.

It is truly bizzare that our numpties in the coaches box believe MacKay is a better bet than Gibbs (even in scratchy form)

There are no lengths the selectors wont goto to keep MacKay in the side.

Play Seeds/Milera etc forward so MacKay can play wing.

Drop Gibbs infront of him, pathetic.

BS he is under done

Has gone on record saying be has had a great pre-season

Cant roll that BS out now

I don’t think it’s about who’s not playing well. It’s about who’s out there looking like they don’t give a shit. Eddie and tex might be struggling but they’re trying. Gibbs just looked to be coasting. Good call

They were never going to change it when they played their best forward at FB in the 2s.

I think Gibbs was always the one to be dropped due to his attitude, at least what it looked like.

Don't write off Poholke yet though.
