Only plyaers a chance at coming in will be Beech,Wigg and Cheney which is fine by me they all play with an edge, but who goes out

Out Brown (Forced) Mackay

That would be it which is probably fine

So, following the least inspiring presser of all time, Im tipping a "back the players" response.

Out: Brown (inj)
In: Knight/Menzel

Apparently Mackay or Douglas can fill Brown's role. FMD

After Pyke's comments there is no way in hell we are dropping underperforming players. 99.9% chance the team is backed in.

I am for one that never read to much into press conferences, at one of the scale there are coaches like Pyke who rarely gives much away on their possible plans while at the other end of the scale there is coaches like Clarko who announce that there will be casualties at the selection table but not follow through

Press conferences are a AFL requirement, club just tick the box with little to no intent to provide insightful information

The thing is, he tried not to give away as much as possible. But the journos kept pushing, and little by little Pyke would reveal how he's backing everyone in.

He wont swing an axe, although he mentioned names I dont think he was giving lip service about the geelong game, he isnt cutting his wrists, he thinks its a glitch as was the same respose from Tex and Greenwood

Two changes and it wouldnt be too hard to pick although he doesnt sound like he will drop Mackay

Then the club hasn't read the tea leaves very well, because this wasn't the week to be generic.

It's still a standard line coaches roll out

There not going to say publicly that they are not backing in their players even when internally they may well be forecasting changes

I rarely listen to pressers or interviews these days with players or coaches as it is all as they are not authentic in a way where we can trust the information

To structured and scripted for my liking

Very much a "back the players to respond" press conference from Pyke.

Brown out will be the only change.
Sadly I got that too.

I reckon there will be 2 changes though if he pulls the trigger on Gov.

Out of curiosity I just took a listen and I couldn't reach any conclusion

In one hand he was positive and backed the players which I would expect however he then went on to talk about Mitch, Beech, Knight and Cheney so it was orettt much declaring an each way bet at this stage

Do I expect Don to make 4-5 changes I don't think so however I do think he will make a min of 2 changes, potentially 3

He didn't explicitly say there will be no changes, but judging by his previous actions and the way he was describing the issues with the losses this year, I don't think he believes it's a personnel issue. He just thinks the players in the team aren't executing the fundamentals in some games, when they are capable of it in other matches.

That is code for no changes.

Of course you can't take their scripted responses at face value. You have to look closely at what they mention, how they say it, what they don't say and so forth.

I reckon 2 changes then a 10 goal win followed by the bye and unchanged against Hawthorn.

I really cant understand your logic at all, it seems you've created a justification to suit your support.

What we know is Port have played SPP in all JLT games and AFL games. FACT.
We know he is a big bodied Mid which we are lacking. FACT.

Now lets look at your theories:

He is lucky he went to Port. Huh?
Port need him more than we do. Huh?
Port were missing mids. Huh?

If he was at our club and we failed to give him the opportunities Port has then that is a FAILING on our behalf. I am not sure why you are so quick to reinforce we wouldn't have played him unless you are trying to have a crack at the club. And we gave Gallucci 2 games in the JLT and then nothing for weeks later because he showed nothing to warrant being selected compared to SPP.

So SSP is the Big Bodied Mid the Crows don't have, 187/87kgs. have a closer look at our List, If the Crows select him he would have only played 2 JLT game tops, because they were running with other Big Bodied Midfielders, CEY 190/94, Smith190/86, Greenwood 190/90, Hampton 187/90, Menzel 187/84, Atkins 186/85, Gore 186/83, But I guess we don't have any big bodied mids NOTE I have not included Seedsman 190/83, BCrouch 187/88, Thommo 185/86
SSP like Pohokle 186/84 would have Play 2 games. And because the Crows were looking at other players would not have played in the first few rounds, he may have made his debut in round 8.
And when I say lucky that Port pick him up. They did not have many big-bodied mid to run with Wines. The bigger mids are Wines 190/97, Ebert 188/89, Polac 187/82 Young 189/83, Pittard 186/81, Palmer188/89, So yes I would say he was lucky Port pick him up because they needed his type of Player badly.
Again SSP looks a great pick in hindsight, but as I said he would not have gotten a game for the Crows until about Round 7 or 8.

He has already been told hes been dropped and there was a meeting of "hard truths" yesterday according to a twitter source. If its true i wonder if thats before they knew Brown was out.
Bold bid for Poster of the Year status here!

Of course, if he's in you'll be run off the board
