I dont really care about the stats tbh.

“I think he’s a shit kick, none of your stats telling me he’s actually above average to elite make any difference”.

Not much you can say to that I guess.

Cole gets a lot of slack around parts because he wears a premiership medallion.

In my opinion, he was somewhere around 21-22 in that side and all premiership sides carry a passenger or two on the big day.

We were in fact, fairly lucky he didn't cost the flag as he was close to worst on ground for me.

In the years since he would not have cracked the Top 80 for defenders in the league.

He firmly sits in the realms of the 22-26 players that are "meh" for me.

No Venables was worst on the day.

Getting the crystal ball out.

In: Hurn, Shuey, SPS, Edwards, Foley
Out: Darling (inj), Petruccelle (inj)

B: Hurn, Barrass, Witherden
HB: Duggan, McGovern, Hunt
C: Hough, Kelly, Chesser
HF: Cripps, Williams, Hewett
F: Long, Allen, Maric
R: Williams, Shuey, Sheed
I: Gaff, Ginbey, SPS, Edwards, O’Neill, Cole, Foley, Bazzo

A couple of forced outs that weren’t on the injury list, just for a change.

Gaff on the extended bench to keep up the presence he might be dropped, but he’ll survive the cut.

Final changes Hurn, Shuey, SPS for Darling, Petch, O’Neill. Cole to be sub again, Edwards and Foley to play WAFL, O’Neill to be 24th man.

Venables wasn't a large part as to why we were 29 points down in the first quarter
Rewatch from the 2nd quarter onwards. Cole dropped a mark in Q1 but took a gutsy contested mark in D50 later on (second half I think) and also won a 50m penalty after taking another mark. He lifted well later in the game.

Venables put some pressure on but didn't do alot. Same with Lecca who was playing injured with that wrist problem. I'd have cole around 18th best on ground.

Don't be silly ... we only re-watch the last 2min 38sec.

They have the players back to make a statement now, it really is a s**t show if they don't. Gaff has to be dropped, only reason they may not to increase his value at the end of the year maybe pick 50.

By my count, Venables and Lecca at 21-22 outs Cole at 20.

Cole’s 2018 was quite good - recall him taking a lot of intercept marks and playing more of a rebounding half back flank role. Like Nelson he wasn’t great as a lockdown small defender. But he slotted in pretty damn well, playing the whole season after only managing 6 matches total prior.

We're currently stacked with HBF types.

If both Hurn & Cole get a full run this week, it would have to be at the expense of one of Hough, Duggan, Hunt or Witherden which I just cannot see happening.

IN - So for mine Hurn and Shuey (must play after their "rest" last week)

OUT - O'Neill and Bazzo

Cole gets another run as sub.

On a side note, I'd love to see a set of WAFL stats for the weekend include the names: Dewar, Baker, L Edwards, Foley, Jamieson, SPS, Trew, Winder, Barnett, O'Neill and Bazzo listed in the names.

When was the last time we fielded 11 listed players in the WAFL side?

One, if not two, will need to be held over for Sunday.

But agree it’ll be great if we can have 9 or 10 AFL listed players lining up for the Beagles on Saturday night.

As a law talkin guy, you should know that anecdotal evidence and "the eye test" are the gold standard in a factual dispute.
