I feel Stanley needs another week at Peel.

Simpson - I’d bring him in.

Will Brodie bossed that game today. He needs to come in both JOM and Erasmus to Peel.

Otherwise agree with changes.

Frederick and Switta will replace forwards. Walters can be managed out (it worked for Collingwood). Sturt for mine isn’t ready. Yes he got two goals but just seems off with timing and not moving smoothly. To be fair to Sturt he kind of had to fill Amiss’ role, which is not his go.

Banfield after last week got worse. He does this every year. You start to believe he has turned the corner after a couple of primo games and then he just smacks you in the face with a wet salmon.
Just like tabs but 100% worse 😭

If there’s ever been a week for some changes to make a point, this is it JLo!

Make a statement, move on from some of these plodder vanilla players we just play week after week.
Spot on
Bring in someone with run who know wants to play overlap footy

Out : Hughes
Erasmus
Omeara
Amiss (Inj)

In : Chappy
Brodie
Simpson
Boss

Sturt kicked 2 goals. what are you on?
On a couch at the moment.

But seriously though, he applied zero defensive pressure tonight with a grand total of zero tackles. That was the reason why he was kept out of the side for so long last year when we were all harping on to get him into the team (myself included). JL basically told the media at the time that his defensive work wasn't up to scratch and that he knew what he needed to work on at Peel.

I'm sure you saw how easily the ball bounced out of the forward half tonight? He only did half the job.

The first goal that Banfield missed in the first quarter came from sturt pressuring.

in the hierarchy of forward 50 attributes kicking goals is number one, then there’s daylight, then there’s marking leading blocking structuring then there’s defensive pressure.

flipping spare me bulls*** jargon. Sturt kicks goals that’s all the matters.

we have a couple of ‘defensive pressure’ specialists in banners and switta and Emmett look how potent we look!!

Our midfield had no defensive side at all. Our defense couldn't defend. Freddies defensive work isn't up to scratch either, Swiita hasn't been fit enough to be of any use in that department either and Emmett doesn't hit his tackles, Bana's did nothing defensively and nor did Jackson or Walters but you want to pin it all on our 2 goal kicker who has had only one match in the wafl back from injury

Chapman in for Hughes

Switta in for Erasmus

Freddy out for Walters

Stanley in for O'Meara

Voss in for Amiss but think they'll go for Taberner because we'll be young next week

Switta Taberner Emmett
Freddy Treacy Jackson
Sharp Fyfe Stanley
Walker Draper Clark
Ryan Pearce Chapman

Darcy Serong Young

Brayshaw Sturt Johnson Aish Stanley (sub)

Goals don't really matter all that much when you're down 60 halfway through the third quarter.
What?

Goals don’t matter in the game that is who scores most wins?

I get what you’re saying - junk goals whatever. The point is that sturt has always kicked goals. Yet we go with plodder defensive specialists because…why? We are a laughing stock up forward

Sturt's first game back. Didn't he have an interrupted pre-season?
The whole ****ing team looked useless and like they didn't give a shit today. He's one I'm not looking at immediately to drop after that shit show. Needs at least another week or two at the AFL.

Where is this myth that Sturt is a goal kicker coming from? Apart from his little purple patch where he kicked 3 and 4 in consecutive weeks (the 4 being in that 101 point win where everyone was having a piece of it) he has never looked even close to being a force up forward. That one quarter of an Essendon game in 2020 has really warped everyone's perception of him.

I'm not saying Sturt was our only shit forward, but he's the only one that people are arguing against. He doesn't get credit for kicking two goals when he cost us plenty of chances at goals by being unable to do the simple task of at least halving a contest in the air. Literally the same argument everyone agreed on about Taberner just a few days ago. He needs to be kicking 4-5 goals a game if he's going to offer us nothing elsewhere. He's not the answer.

Need to go Voss over tabs good can’t go back to the well after that.

Have you watched Voss play for Peel, he hasn’t done anything to tell me he is better than Tabs. He may have kicked 3 today, but one was from a second free kick like the one Carlton got against us and the other two weee pretty easy in a 11 goal win. I’m yet to see him take a strong pack mark or any strong mark this year

"Simple task halving a contest against Barass"

Lmao! Just stop already

Sorry my bad! Sturt should've just let Barrass mark the ball even more than he did! FFS there's out marking Barrass, and there's forcing a ****ing contest or at the very least being there to crumb when Treacy halves the contest for you. Sturt did not halve a single contest all game.

Depends how you look at it.

Tabs draws the best defender, which creates the domino effect for Treacy and Jackson

Voss won't, so Treacy or Jackson would attract the best defender

I want to see Voss get a crack, but I would understand if JL picks Tabs

Nothing I’ve seen of Voss at Peel (and I’ve watched him closely) tells me he is any better than Tabs

He isn't big or strong enough to do that.

Well I guess there was a couple of games this year where Tabs kicked a couple of goals too. Coming back from an injury and little football. All players have their critics.

Sturt averages 1.3 goals a game over his career.

Better than Banfield (0.6); Switta (0.6); Emmett (1).

Give him a proper run and a functioning forward like and he could average 2.

no one is saying Sam sturt is the savior of our team. But he’s got something no one else in the team has bar amiss : goal kicking
