Interesting hypothesis.. take Partington. Tearing up the WAFL but is not getting an AFL debut (one can only hope it is this week). You'd have to think that might have an impact on the guy's confidence? When you look at Sydney blooding young players like Heeney, Nic Newman, Papley they grow in confidence and excel. It's almost like our MC expects the young guys to be elite from the word go and never give them a chance to build confidence in their game at AFL level.

His time will come.. if true that they want him to work on his defensive running, then it's not a massive deal for him to play a few more weeks at WAFL level.

Sheed was dropped back earlier in the year for the exact same reason and it hasn't seemed to affect him at all.

I jsut keep thinking of Scott Thompson at Adelaide toiling away in the ressies without a league game this year, after averaging 24 touches, 7 tackles a game last year, and wonder why we can't do the same...

Agree. We do it but only when we are a bottom side. We can't seem to do it (to the same extent as Syd and other teams) when we are contending

In 2015 when we made the grand final we debuted Duggan, Nelson, Lamb, McInnes and Barrass. The first two played 12 and 11 games respectively and Duggan in particular might have played more but hurt his knee late in the year. Plus Sheed played 23 games in what was his second year on the list.

Not that I necessarily buy this rumour, but if it's true that seems ridiculous. I don't know why a professional player would get too wound up about a rivalry in a crap league like the WAFL when he's not even from Perth originally.

Why would you call it a crap league? The West Perth/East Perth rivalry is huge to their supporters, it actually is a rivalry not a plastic made up one like the Western derby.
And he is a West Perth man through and through and its in your DNA to hate East Perth.

Well it is isn't it? The coaches never really buy into it, its all played down most of the time by the clubs as opposed to in Adelaide. The media try to pump it up as best they can but it's pretty vanilla compared to others. West Coast/Sydney is a bigger rivalry than the Derby.

If they don't put it on their website as an open session (which they haven't) then you aren't getting in because the only access is using an elevator that can be locked off

Usually they allow people in for the first session of the week which is just recovery/basic skills at low intensity but that's it. The midweek sessions which are more strategy based and competitive work are closed.

Going to be interesting how the Kremlin handles things at Lathlain when they move there as it will be far more difficult/impossible to keep people out

I loved it over the summer when they told me Wembley was not an open closed session!!!!

I suspect Daniels gets the team sheets about 4pm on a Thursday, he always seems to tweet out a hint about that time.
