Prediction Changes v Port

The rumour wasn't that Lecras if forced to play wafl because of form would retire it's that he would retire if forced to play for east perth.

Not that I necessarily buy this rumour, but if it's true that seems ridiculous. I don't know why a professional player would get too wound up about a rivalry in a crap league like the WAFL when he's not even from Perth originally.

You've got two talls (JK and Lycett) coming in as well as Hurn but no talls coming out

Means we would be playing three KPDs (+Hurn), three KPFs (if you class Darling as a tall) and three rucks/forwards

That's peak LOG
It would be tough to drop vardy as a straight swap for lycett. Port plays 3 talls forward in hoff, young and dixon with ryder resting. Dunno if lycett can ruck the whole game himzelf in forst game back. Hence not dropping a tall. Having petrie a permanent forward will make port think twice about double teaming jk.

My own view is that this is something that's been made up on the internet

However, for the conspiracy theorists one line from Simpson caught my attention when talking about not being able fit everyone into the side - said that some players would have to play at EP or not at all. It was a curious line

I took it to mean that those in form that were just injured can comeback in but those injured and out of form might need a run in the 2's.

I kind of think the rumour started when Lecras was probably talking to West Perthians about the new alignment when it come up and offered a joking "id retire before I put on that jumper" and someone has run off with it "Lecras will retire before he plays at East Perth..."

"Simpson said the match committee would put form ahead of reputation when they selected the team to play Port Adelaide on Sunday"

My predictions.
Out: Redden, Wellingham (inj), Butler (inj), Barrass, Petrie (unfortunate)
In: Priddis, Nelson, Hurn, JK, Lycett
I don't see how LeCras isn't an automatic inclusion like Priddis, both have earnt "credits" and both have dropped a bit of form yet Priddis comes straight back in and LeCras doesn't?

Poor coaching and selection decision.

Picture the situation in a month's time whereby we have a fit and firing Lecras ready to come back and play. It could be great.

A fit and firing Lecras is an A grader. Not quite there on either account means we have a liability in the forward line that will not always run back with his defender which would be a disaster when Priddis is resting forward and there will be another opposition defender that is running away from his forward who can't keep up.

No wonder Cripps has been looking knackered of late!

It's a bullshit myth perpetuated by West Perth supporters with no substance whatsoever.

Priddis missed a week. LeCras has played one game in the last month.

I think they are training now, is anyone here down there watching?
If they don't put it on their website as an open session (which they haven't) then you aren't getting in because the only access is using an elevator that can be locked off

Usually they allow people in for the first session of the week which is just recovery/basic skills at low intensity but that's it. The midweek sessions which are more strategy based and competitive work are closed.

Going to be interesting how the Kremlin handles things at Lathlain when they move there as it will be far more difficult/impossible to keep people out

Priddis out one two or three weeks doesn't excuse his form same as LeCras, if Priddis had spent 3 weeks out with his "general soreness" he'd still be an automatic inclusion even if he's in poor form. However LeCras seems to be treated differently, he seems to have to prove himself first, why shouldn't Priddis be the same especially after the midfield performed much better without him.

Simpson likes to give contradictory treatment to different players in similar situations (it's not limited to this Priddis LeCras situation), must be frustrating for the players and give them a lack of confidence in their coach and role in the "squad". Some of them will be left thinking "who's dick to i need to suck to get preferential treatment around here".

There's a pretty big indoor training room at the new facilities but for any positional/full oval strategy training it would obviously need to be done outside. Plus that's the whole point of replicating the G dimensions on oval #2 I guess.

If LeCras is made to come back through the WAFL it'll be the first time that's happened since 2008. That's despite his form never really being anything more than patchy since he did his knee in 2012. He can hardly complain about unfair treatment.

For any senior player there will come a time when their credits run out. LeCras is probably there. Priddis is probably close. That doesn't mean that one's getting preferential treatment compared with the other.
