Your man love for Martin is duly noted. It's also getting very boring that you feel you have to write about it in every single post you make. To put it bluntly, Martin is not an AFL footballer, he's just a very good SANFL footballer.

Which you have to say in every single bloody selection thread. Leave it out. Or is it haters gotta hate?

2. Any possibility we bring back the "Freo specialist" Matty Wright? In our 2 minor round games v Freo last year he had career highs in goals (the first time) and possessions (the second).

Put it this way. I for one would be VERY happy for this fella to miss the game against us.

He was the first guy I thought of after Tex (realise that Tex isn't available, but he was the first fella I thought of) and your onballers (and Sloane) that I really thought of as being a real worry.

Has been an absolute thorn in Freo's side each time we played you lot last year.

Even though Fremantle are without their top 2 ruckmen, they're still too dangerous to consider dropping Jacobs.

Would have to agree with this. Gutsy move to drop Jacobs, particularly as this could end up being an important game in the context of the season.

I hope your lot do drop him to the SANFL. But I'd bet good money that you'll keep him in.

Having watched the replay, people are being way too harsh on VB. His first half was poor, I'll agree with that. But he lifted after half time, especially in that finally quarter. He had a direct involvement in 2 or 3 of our goals in that last quarter alone, and a couple in the 3rd. I'd have Kerridge, Patty, Dougie and then VB as our best in that final quarter, with Talia and Jenkins not too far behind. I would nearly have Porps in there as well, his last quarter has been severely underrated on here. Direct involvement in 3 of our goals, including that 5th one to Kerridge where he used his body beautifully in the marking contest and got the hands off to Kerridge for the snap.

So VB is the captain, so he won't be dropped. Reilly will probably get another opportunity.

Crouch had a quiet week in the SANFL, so you'd expect him to have another game with Westies.

Porps did some nice things as the sub. If they thought he was behind Henderson, they would have made the change before this game.

Jacobs was putrid today, so it'd be gutsy to drop him for Graham. Considering Graham's form for Sturt, I'd find this unlikely.

I'd lean to no change again, for the 2nd week in a row.
He doesn't deserve to either, it's not just because he's the captain.

It's a bit tricky at the selection table this week. Do you punish the boys for the first 3 qtrs or pat them on the back for the last quarter?
Besides our first quarter, it was only the first 5-10 minutes of quarters we were bad. Our ball movement was superb in the last bit of the 2nd quarter, the last bit of the 3rd quarter, and then obviously the last bit of the 4th quarter.

Watching him and Reilly "link up" is a privilege.
I only noticed one bad VB turnover yesterday. I also noticed another two from Danger. I then noticed mistakes from pretty much our whole side yesterday. Stop singling out a player because it suits your bias against him.

The day Sam Shaw is fit and replaces Reily fulltime in the team will be a day ive waited too long for. as good as reily was last year in his 3rd tall role, he is just so frustrating to have in the side and makes me panic way too much when he has the ball.
If you are worried about Reilly's kicking (which is nowhere near as big a issue as people make out on here, as evidenced by the unbiased commentators yesterday complimenting his skills), then wait until Shaw is playing the same role. He may be a slightly better defender, but he doesn't even come close to Reilly in the skills department (or even with decision making). I don't think he's bad either, it's just how highly I rate Reilly's kicking skills (and the majority of decisions he makes, obviously there was one howler yesterday), which are well above par for an AFL player.

Who were then audibly embarrassed when he stuffed up straight after.

VB is one of our mids who actually take their time kicking the football to a forward. He isn't the best kick but he makes the most of it.

Just finished watching the entire game. Nothing wrong with VB. Didn't get a heap of it but was effective when he did.
And he doesn't need to be getting 25 touches every week with the midfield we have. Plays his role consistently every week, with the odd standout game every 4 or 5 weeks. Some of his passes going forward yesterday were sublime.

So? Danger played immensely in that last quarter, but that dinky kick on the wing, which resulted in a turnover and a goal to North, why does no one mention that?

For some reason Reilly is the whipping boy on this board. That's fine, not much I can do about that, but don't tell me people are posting with any semblance of facts on the issue besides their personal hate for him as a player.

If they want to drop Sauce then have to bring in Graham as proved in 2 nd half that although Smack doing enough to keep in team as allows us to leave Jenkins forward longer.
He did not even get close in ruck duels and in fact Jenkins was more competitive and we want to leave him up forward as much as possible.
Henderson a chance to come in and maybe take Porps spot.

It was Sanderson who dragged Reilly, gave his kick in duties to someone else and hid him on the bench/forward line for the remainder of the game. Maybe he's starting to see what we see?

Reilly is good except when there is pressure.

Given time and space to deliver the ball, plus a wide target in acres of space and he is an elite kick.

Sauce gets another game unless genuinely injured.

Porps the only iffy one but I think he was good when he came on. Did his job.

I'd be tempted to bring in Henderson. Pace + versatility. Must be able to break lines against Freo.

Not sure though.

To add - people calling for Brown's head? Spanners.

I guess you didn't hear Sando OTC then. Very complimentary of Radar. Obviously not happy with that kick in, but he stills rates him quite highly.

Why aren't you criticising Danger for his mistake on the wing? Or his shoddy handball in defense? All players make mistakes, it's just seems like Radar's are the only ones certain people care about on here.

Probably because Dangerfield often wins games of football off his own back, and continually stands up under pressure.

Did you expect Sando to bag Reilly?

So Rielly never took a game saving intercept mark and won a game for us with one of his acts?

If you're now trying to compare Reilly and a game saving intercept mark (I'm assuming you're talking about the Sydney one) to the efforts that Dangerfield constantly dishes out, then I don't really know what to say.
