"Our players in the SANFL have stuff they need to work on".

Brings in Himmelberg.

If there was a half decent footy journo in Adelaide with any balls, they'd challenge him on this crap.

His messages are completely inconsistent from week to week, and contradicted by his own actions.

I guess the small victories here are Smith out, Murphy not rushed back in, and Pedlar given another go.

Pretty ******* dire outside of that though.
Those two are locks to come back in for the showdown.

Tick - Pedlar in
Tick - Cook persisted with

Okay - Crouch back

Cross - Himmelberg
Cross - no Dowling
Cross - No Curtin
Cross - Murphy named in emergencies without playing an SANFL game
Cross - McHenry named again after two of the worst games of football ever

Nicks just can't let go of some players can he?

He's already decided in previous seasons that Sholl, McHenry and Himmelberg aren't up to it. So what does he do? Tries them all AGAIN.

They aren't getting better in their 11th stint after being dropped countless times Matthew
I liked the quote about Himmelberg not having played for almost a year, so "we're excited to see what he can do"...

Is it exactly the same as he did last year. And the year before, and the ****ing year before that?

Majority of em in the SA media are powa supporters aren't they?…

Never Interfere With an Enemy While He’s in the Process of Destroying Himself..

Why do we have to see Himmelberg play for the 42nd time..... *in insane.
Its not just that, he was gone at the end of last year if we found a replacement. We didn't but he is ooc this year and already sounded keen to move to GWS. So what possible gain is there running him in the side in terms of building our next premiership side??.

And i echo others hete re Curtin and Dowling in particular..just stunning the lach of foresight for whats needed to get us to the next level

Burgess has been much better than Himmelberg so I don't understand
Burgess would be more of a like for like for Tex or Fogarty. We have played the three together and it does not work. Gollant has been tried in the third tall role and found wanting. For team balance I am happy with Himmelberg's inclusion as he can play back up ruck. It remains to be seen how he goes up forward, but can't be worse than anything else we have tired in Thilthorpe's absence.

The problem the club has is they clearly tell themselves "we need a decent second ruck" or "we need a decent depth KPD" but they don't actually have any. So instead they just keep cycling through the same set of disappointing players over and over again.

Himmelberg isn't the answer, neither is Gollant or Burgess. NONE of them are going to offer what you want. So try something different - maybe have a smaller forward line? Maybe stick a defender up forward? Maybe just play an extra midfielder?

Same with Butts and Borlase replacing each other over and over again. The reality is neither of them are worth persisting with.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that Himmelberg stinks it up and is dropped next week, like 40 of the other 42 games he has played.

**** 'team balance' we are rebuilding this isn't a grand final.
