I can vividly see in an alternate reality Elliot kicks 5~ goals against a totally inept Norf backline and rubber stamps himself for the next month only to do SFA in those games.

Burgess would be more of a like for like for Tex or Fogarty. We have played the three together and it does not work. Gollant has been tried in the third tall role and found wanting. For team balance I am happy with Himmelberg's inclusion as he can play back up ruck. It remains to be seen how he goes up forward, but can't be worse than anything else we have tired in Thilthorpe's absence.

Burgess leads up at the ball and can take a mark.Considering our bomb it blindly into the Fwds and bar a bit of errant kicking,he was offering more than both Tex and Fog prior to being dropped.

Just preparing myself for Himmelberg’s inevitable inclusion this week, ticks a lot of Nicks selection boxes;

• Tried and failed at AFL level before
• Gets bullied in contests as still has the physique of a 17 year old despite being on an AFL list for 5+ years
• Out of contract and unlikely to be at the club next year
